This morning I was suppose to take Mom to Lafayette to have an EEG done. Her kidney dr thought it would be a good idea to possibly rule out what is causing her to pass out all the time.

I was suppose to have her there at seven a.m.. Last night she decided she didn't want to go. She was tired of going to Drs. and told me to cancel the appt.,so I did.

About eight a.m. The tech called and was curious why Mom had cancelled. I told her and then we discussed Mom little more in detail. She said that since Mom did have a stroke it is possible that is what could be causing her to pass out.she then said if Mom was having seizures, it would make her very tired and worn out. Well...she described Mom to a "T". Mom just doesn't have the energy and has now started spending most the day in bed.

Well, I rescheduled the appt. and we go next week. She also said that if indeed it is something neurological that there may be a med that would help her. So..hopefully it will.

At least you're hopefully going to find out what's going on. I hope that they find something out that can help her. Your Mom is just going to be obstinate to the end!!!!

I hope she does go next week. If medication can help her, that would take a load off of your mind!

Yes...it will take a load off. Mom can't sit up or stand up without passing out. When she lies down...the bed spins. I shouldn't have let her talk me out of going, but that is water under the bridge now. We will be going on Thursday at noon. A much better time for us. She said it will take a couple of hours and I could stay and take a nap or do whatever...

Guess I'll wait until Thursday to decide.

Have they checked for carotid artery blockage? The dizziness and fainting reminds of MIL a few years back.

I don't think so, but I'll ask about it.
