You guys think you can go a month without eating any meat?

I want to try one whole month without eating any meat. I'm thinking maybe March will be a good time to try it. Not sure if I should lay off seafood or not? Still planning on the details.

I don't think I could do that. I'm not real big on beef, but I do like pork, turkey and chicken and of course sea food.

This will be one of my big challenges. That's why I want to really have time to plan it. So if you ladies have veggie recipes please post them.

Not me!! I'm on the Atkin's diet and we're allowed meat!!! If I were to cut that out then I really wouldn't have much at all to eat!!! On Tuesday the girls and I are definitely getting more serious about our diet!!! Christmas and all the goodies will be in the past........but.......I still have one more party TOMORROW!!!!!

I could go without meat for a month! I would need to find a good source of protein, though. I could easily go without RED meat for a month! I did the South Beach diet, which is similar to Atkins for awhile. It's basically meat and veggies...very limited carbs. It worked well for me.

I'm not trying to diet just trying to cleanse my tummy in a healthy way. If that makes any sense. I usually eat until I feel heavy and I'm trying to quit that because that's how I start being lazy.

I could totally eat vegetarian for a month - or even longer. I'm not a big meat eater at all. I think it's a great idea! I have a bad habit of eating till I feel too full and bloated and I've stopped that (for now). I hate the feeling.

I'm not much of a meat eater either. I could probably live off veggies forever! But I do eat it because everyone else eats it.

Will you be taking a supplement when you stop eating meat?

I'm trying out the substitutes out their so I know what I like and don't like by March. Here's my no animal product veggie pizza. Approved by the kids and boyfriend.

Lindsey I always take prenatal vitamins but I do know if I eat well I shouldn't be needing them.

Here's what I use for substitutes:

Also guys, do you have recommendation for a good food processor/juice maker duo?

I don't have any recommendations, but that pizza looks delicious!!!

So....you're not eathing ANY animal products? No milk, eggs, cheese? That would be really hard for me!!

I will say though, that I've been drinking the unsweetened almond milk and it's pretty good.....I do add splenda. It takes some getting used to but it has less carbs in it. I imagine if you're not concerned about the sugar the sweetened would be even better!!

Yes, I should say I'm going vegan for March. I'm trying many substitutes and I'm learning to make veggie/fruit smoothies.

I am going to try the almond soy milk :D

No, the Almond milk is not soy. It's made from almonds. There are soy milks though but I haven't had them.

Almonds are very healthy, so that milk sounds good.

I roast a lot of my veggies. I have some fresh beets and brussel sprouts waiting to be roasted in a few minutes. They are delicious!

As long as you have a couple of servings of protein every day, you should be fine. You have to supplement with a few animal amino acids.
