This was on our local news last night so I wanted to share. The following website is suppose to help you bypass some of the button pushing and waiting on hold. I'll post the site link and then the story.

I haven't tried it yet , but I certainly will give it a try. The people on the news thought it was wonderful.

To bad we have to live in an automated world. I'm for the good old days of no cell phones. How did we ever live without them. Most people these days would not survive.... :(

Oh I'm glad we have the cell phones, but trying to get through to some businesses and Insurance company's is horrible. Would be much faster to speak with a person, but I guess they don't want to pay someone to answer the phone.

So true, Janet. I spend half my life on hold for doctors, insurance Medicare or pharmacies. What really bothers me is trying to talk to the clinical staff at Garys doctors. I call and ALWAYS have to leave a message and they have to call me back, usually hours later. If I miss that call because , God forbid, I am WORKING, then we have to play the phone tag again. Its like I have to abide by their constraints but they do not have to abide by mine. We have one doctors office where a triage nurse answers the phone and talks to you about your need. If she can't help she transfers you on where you might have to leave a message, but if no one calls me back or I miss the call then I can always call the triage nurse back. It feels much better knowing you can always talk to a nurse.

I really hate the automated system when I get cut off and have to go through it again. I can't tell you how many times this has happened to mein the past few years. It is so frustrating.

Gayle, I can see where you would be fustrated with call backs with as many doctors as you talk to.

I'm with you, Linda. I don't care for cell phones. I do see that they are convenient at times but mostly they are not. Every conversation I have with someone is interrupted by a phone call or text......Or when the grandkids are around they have a phone growing out of one arm......either phoning, texting, or playing games. There is NO one-on-one time anymore.

Ok.....I'm stepping off of my soap box now!!

We do have a rule that when we are out as a family our phones are left at home, off or on vibrate. Whenever we had Thankgiving or Christmas at my Mom's, my younger brother's 2 adult kids were on their phones constantly texting. So rude. Someone would say something to them and they would say "hold on a minute" so they could finish texting. Really made me angry, so that's why we have rules.

I know. Last Christmas I got tired of the girls having theirs out so I took them from them and put them in the kitchen window while they were here. The only one that was upset over it was Kera but she lived through it!!
