I've been so busy lately, I haven't had time to post pictures of Gary's 30th anniversary present to me. Now, I'm NOT a diamond girl, but the 3 diamonds in the middle ring are some that Gary inherited from his dad. They were in his mom's wedding ring. He had 4 other diamonds set into birthstone necklaces, one for each of his sisters. There were 3 diamonds left and he has wanted to put them in a ring for me, but I was resistant. I guess he knew if he had it done for our 30th anniversary, I couldn't say no. LOL! The two eternity bands on either side of the middle ring are just sterling silver bands with cubic zirconia that I have had for a long time - but the 3 rings together look really pretty and you can't tell they aren't really diamonds. Maybe someday I'll get diamond eternity bands. Nah, probably not. This ring is way more glitzy than I am used to. I've never had any diamonds in my wedding ring, only a gold band, and then Gary and I got silver bands for our 25th anniversary. Sorry the pics aren't very good.
Gayle is beautiful and very thoughful of Gary.

Gayle I love your rings. I've never been a jewelry person before, but since inheriting all of Mom's jewelry, I've turned into one :) I just love diamonds and all the glitter.
Not sure when it was but HAPPY 3OTH ANNIVERSARY!!!
Happy Anniversary to you and Gary!!!
The ring is beautiful, and so sweet of Gary. I like the 3 rings together. I love adding cubics to real stones. I am a glitter girl.
Wear it well, and in good health!

Awww......how special to use his Mother's diamonds!! Gary is a keeper for sure!! When they put three diamonds together like that they call it a Past, Present, Future ring. How perfect for your anniversary!! Happy Anniversary......even if it is late!!! Lots of love to you and Gary!!

Wow Gayle.... i just love the ring, and it does look nice with the others.
I have always been very into jewelry, i have some of my Mums and Auntys, and though i dont like to wear a lot of it at one time, i do wear selected pieces.
I love cleaning my jewelry too, gives me satisfaction to see it all sparkly:D
What do you use to clean your jewelry with, Diana? I have been using Dawn dish detergent, and a toothbrush. Do you know of anything better?
Also, does anyone know of a good silver polish? I have some of my parents' old silver pieces, but they are all tarnished.

I have used those sonic jewelry cleaners and they work really well, but then, I forget to clean out the cleaner and they get all gunked up and don't work. So I've resorted to an old toothbrush and I usually just use toothpaste. I keep dawn dish soap to bathe the dogs when they get fleas, so I'll have to try it for my jewelry. Much of my jewelry is sterling silver and I use a polishing cloth on it. Judy, I don't lnow how to clean large pieces of silver, I don't have any.

We get special jewelry cleaner, it is in a little screw top jar (size of a can of coke), it has a basket inside that you drop your jewelry in, leave it for 5 min, then with a little brush you scrub over the jewelry, it foams a little so it is a detergent of sorts, then you rinse it in clean water and dry - wow you definitely see sparkle, i use if for my gold chains and they come up lovely too.
I get mine from any good jewelry store, and it last a long time.

Your new ring is beautiful! I bet it makes Gary so happy to see it on your hand:) I know his sisters love their jewelry, too!
I love jewelry, but I find myself wearing less and less. Mike got me a diamond and sapphire ring for our 25th anniversary since a sapphire is Septembers stone and that's when we got married. I have to make myself remember to put it on sometimes, since I've had it for 12 years now, lol! I also have a ring that I designed and had a local jeweler make from my mom's ring plus some of my diamonds from a different ring. I do cherish it.
I had that sonic jewelry cleaner years ago! I used it once, and then went back to the toothpaste method.

I have the same kind of cleaner that Diane W has. It works really good.

I always use a toothbrush and liquid soap on my gold and diamonds, and a polishing cloth on my silver.

To clean my jewelry I use amonia. I pour a little in the lid and let it soak for awhile then I use a toothbrush on it. Or I use window cleaner.......they really sparkle with that!

Never thought of using window cleaner......it makes everything else shine, why not jewerly! I'll have to give it a try.
I wear the ring Mom left to me 24/7. I had it resized and cleaned and they had to reset some of the diamonds. I'm always afraid I'm going to lose it somehow or the diamonds will fall out so I've decided that I'll have it cleaned and make sure the diamonds are secure once a year.

That's a good idea. I know that anymore when you buy jewelry at Kay's Jewelry you can get a warranty where you take it in every 6 months and they'll check everything over. The girls always have to drop by Kay's when we're at Wichita to have theirs checked and Jaci damaged her wedding ring a while back and they repaired it for free.
