I've been using the program on MyFitnessPal.com. It has a lot of food items already in it's database so I'm just counting calories. I do watch the fat, sugar etc, and if it's too much of course I say "Janet...do you want to be thinner?" and I put it back......lolol

It will also keep track of your exercise and will tell you when you should be at your goal. It really is a very simple program and I also have it on my iPad2. So far I've lost about 6 lbs, but it's going to be quite some time before I will show any weightloss. I just hate walking by a mirror. Such a big stomach and back end!!!

Anyway, I'm eating more fruits and veggies and less of the bad stuff . Hopefully I'll reach my goal weight by 2050....:D:D

Oh YEAH, Janet!!! You can do anything that you set your mind to do......you've proved that in the past!!!........and before 2050!!! I'm so proud of you!!

We've had a really hard time getting back on our diet since Christmas. Not that we've gone off of the deep end or anything but it's just so easy to cheat......and all those cheats add up. Amy has gotten serious and has lost another 3 pounds and has lost almost 50 pounds!! Dae Lynn has lost ove 40 and I've lost 25 still. I had lost almost 30 but I've gained a little back but with the girls losing it's really giving me some motivation. When I start swimming this summer and get more active then I know that I'll lose more!!

Janet, find you a partner or someone you can walk or exercise with and that will help!! You're so good at meeting your goals and I know that you can do this one. Just make small goals......not one huge one!!

Thank you so much for the support. I so appreciate it. I am taking one afternoon and driving to a girlfriends house 30 minutes from home and we are going to walk. She's trying to lose also so we've been encouraging each other. She's the friend from school who's mother is in a nursing home.

I really couldn't do the diet you and the girls are on. I can't leave out a lot of the things I like and for as big as I am, I don't like a lot of things. Counting calories and walking will probably do better for me. We'll see anyway. I wish I would have started sooner.....hey..I did..a million times....LOLOL

Good for you Janet. Were all very proud of you.

I don't know how much you use ground beef but I found an imitation that taste exactly like ground beef that can help with your diet.

http://www.yvesveggie.com/products/detail.php/meatless-ground-round-original

I have tried other meats but this is my favorite.

Good luck on your diet.

Thanks Jess, I'll have to see if I can find it. Would they have it at Wal Mart?

JJJ

I have not seen it at Walmart. I get it either at Whole Food Market or Kroger. Theirs also a Soyrizo (mexican imitation sausage) at HEB.

So far those are the only meats I say I like.

How's it going, Janet?

Janet
03-25-2012, 04:00 PM
It's going very well. I'm hardly every hungry and I've lost 8 lbs total. I'm using that website I mentioned a logging all I eat. It's hard at times deciding on what I want to eat, but I've got plenty to choose from. I just have to remember to choose wisely. I'm really hoping I will stick with it this time.

DianaB

Sounds good!!

My scales went wacky after I cleaned it the other day so I'm not real sure where I'm at!! It weighs heavier than it was......bummer!! I've been doing really good on my diet and I think that I've lost a pound or two but without the scales working properly it's hard to tell.

Janet
03-26-2012, 02:03 PM
Guess it's just time to buy a new scale Diana....lol. Tomorrow after I take my friends mother to the dentist, I'm going to go for a walk. Hope the sun is shining.

It is so pretty out, but haven't gone for the walk yet. I've lost a total of 9 lbs as of this morning. Eating all the right things and drinking plenty of water. Sure wish it showed, but when you weigh as much as I do, it will be awhile.

DianaB
03-31-2012, 08:24 AM
You'll be surprised at how quickly you'll notice it in your clothes even if people aren't noticing it. Nine pounds is really good!! Go to the grocery store and pick up a couple of bags of sugar!! That's what you've lost!!! :cheer: You'll start feeling better without the weight too.

Stinkin' scales!!! I'm just going to pretend that they're right. I really think that they're 5 pounds off of where they were. I'm back on the diet pretty good now. I can tell because I feel so much better!!

Janet
03-31-2012, 11:25 AM
I've lost a total of 10 lbs so far. I am thrilled beyond belief. It puts me below 250 lbs now. I wouldn't tell that on any othe forum but here. No reason in the world I should weigh that much except plain ole over eating. I love food.

Logging everything on MyFitnessPal.com is working for me. I'm not doing without either.

Wow Janet, 11 lbs is a lot! Good luck!

I am walking at least 30 minutes at a day on my treadmill now. My cousin is also trying to work out so we're encouraging each other. She does hers at lunch, I do mine after work! I am feeling better already, after just a couple of days. I think it makes such a difference with me because I sit ALL DAY at work. Then I would usually go home and sit all evening in front of the tv  That's so bad for a person. So even just the little bit of exercise I'm doing I think is making a huge difference in my energy and even in my mind and feeling a little better about myself.

I started using Noom on my tablet. It gives me 4 tasks per day - reading an article, logging my lunch, logging exercise, and something else - usually some sort of challenge (yesterday was don't eat in front of the computer or tv... oops, I read that after I had already had lunch in front of the computer and supper in front of the tv - I failed!)

I know eating more healthy foods is a big step but I haven't really done it yet... but like I told Scott last night, eating a handful of chips after exercise is still better than eating a handful of chips after sitting on the couch all night lol!

Oh I used to also use FitDay.com - same basic idea, you log your meals and snacks and exercise online for free. They had almost any food you could think of in their database! You would just choose the type of food, brand name, and which variety you ate! It counted your daily calories for you.

I am up about 11 lbs since winter too - but I was way heavier than you to begin with. I just can't seem to stop snacking at night. That is my problem. I do fine with breakfast lunch and dinner, but after dinner, watch out! LOL!

I don't think I will stay on the Medifast diet. I love the bars, but I think eating low carb, healthy, small meals is more normal.

Here's what I'm thinking:
Breakfast - bar
snack - bar
lunch - fruit, 100 cal. bagel, protein
snack - fruit or bar
dinner - protein and lots of green veggies
snack - low carb, low cal something good (fruit maybe)
2 tbls. peanut butter - late night snack

I weigh 140.8, and want to lose 7 pounds.

Janet
04-12-2012, 06:20 AM
If I ate that Judy....I would absolutely starve to death!!! Plus, it would get old real fast.

I finally broke my not losing streak...I've lost another pound so 12 lbs total so far.

Good for you Janet!!!
And to everyone that has lost... hard hard hard to do. Proud of you all.
I quit smoking last Feb. Over a year now. Good for me! But sadly have gained weight... knew it would happen, expected it to happen.. and about 15 pounds later, I am still 15 pounds heavier. :(

Worse thing is I am darn near OK with that!!!! Older I get... things are not as important to me as they should be. I have the equipment I need to lose. I have the time needed to lose. I have the willpower needed to use.
I just need the mindset to get started...

DianaB
04-13-2012, 08:12 AM
That's great, Janet!!! You're doing so good!!!

I'm down some more and the scales are just about 2 pounds from where I was at so I'm pretty happy about that. I've been having an Atkins bar and shake for lunch and it's really helped with my weight loss. I have one of my low carb muffins and a couple of cups of coffee for breakfast, then the Atkins bar and shake for lunch, then we have a low carb supper. And I've been snacking on a couple of slices of cheese in the middle of the afternoon. I find that I'm not hungry during the day so this is working for me.

Amy has lost 50 pounds now!! She looks so good!! Dae Lynn is still around 40 pounds and she's struggling right now with everything going on. It's so nice that we're dieting together!!

For Easter the girls make quite a bit of low carb food......but my diet went out the window with Mom's lemon pie.....my favorite!!! Oh well.....I'm back on now!! And it sure was good!!!

I'm go glad you are almost back to where you were Diana. It's hard and not fun trying to lose weight and keep it off. Everytime you turn around there is a holiday, celebration or just something where food is involved.

Got on the scales this morning (drank extra water yesterday) and down another lb. So total to date is 13 lbs gone. I just wish it showed. When you weigh as much as me, then it takes a lot of time. As I mentioned, I started at 259...how bad is that???? I have never weighed that much and it's not healthy for me. Now I'm at 246 and I am thrilled. I know I'll hit another plateau, but I'm expecting it and will get through it. I hope by the next time you see me Diana, that I'll be fit and trim.

Good luck to you too and all of us who are trying to lose.

DianaB
04-14-2012, 09:51 AM
I started at 250 and by my scales I'm at 223. I'm pretty happy with that and I'm still working on it. I was in size 22 clothes and now I'm getting into some 18s. You'll see a difference soon. It took a while before people started noticing that I was losing weight.

Janet
04-14-2012, 10:42 AM
In elastic waste jeans I was wearing 3X and now I have plenty of room in 2X. Same with shirts, glad I didn't throw any out or I would have to go naked and that would not be pretty at all.. :D

It's so hard to wait, when I want to actually see a difference.

DianaB
04-14-2012, 06:12 PM
I still wear some of my bigger clothes.....expecially my every day things. I bought some clothes last year at garage sales and I will say that they have come in really handy!! I've bought a few things to wear to church that are new. Having to buy new clothes is the hard part of losing weight because I have some things I really like!! Oh well.....it's still nice to fit in the smaller things!!!

judy
04-15-2012, 05:43 AM
Good for both of you! That's where it really shows..when you go down in clothing sizes!

Diana, when I lost 35 pounds years ago, I took my most favorite clothes and had them altered to fit. The tailor thought I was crazy! She kept saying, "Why don't you just buy new ones" Because I loved those ones!!!

Janet
04-15-2012, 02:34 PM
Thanks Judy. It can be really difficult at times, but I must say I'm not doing without anything I like and I'm never hungry. I'm just using that application and entering my calories. I knew I would fail AGAIN if I couldn't have things I enjoyed eating. So far so good.

Now with it being warm out again I can get out and get some exercise just by doing my yard work. I'm waiting till May to plant flowers. Just not taking the chance of a real hard freeze. Being outside instead of sitting on my 'you know what' will help out immensley!

DianaB
04-16-2012, 02:16 PM
Judy, that's a great idea!! At first I thought that my daughter, Amy, could wear them but she wears a different style than I do.....but now we're about the same size.

Janet
04-19-2012, 08:22 AM
Weighed this morning and now at 245...yea!!! I'm happy. It's coming off slower now than it did for the first couple weeks, but at least it's still coming off. I think getting out and working in the yard is helping too. I love being outside, this year it just seems better.

I have not lost anything yet. I'm walking on my treadmill every evening right after work, at least 2 miles in 30-35 minutes. I work up a sweat and feel good about myself but it's not showing on the scale!

gja1000
04-19-2012, 04:43 PM
Lindsey, you probably won't lose any weight with exercise alone. I know it sounds crazy, but there have been lots of studies to show that exercise it not a good weight loss strategy unless you do like 2 hours per day or something like that. Exercise is very good at keeping the weight off after you lose by calorie restriction.

Lindsey
04-19-2012, 06:17 PM
My program is telling me I'm allowed 1750 calories per day and I'm staying around 1500 every day :(

gja1000
04-19-2012, 06:40 PM
I think 1500 is too many for you in the beginning. 1200 is a good number to start with

JJJ
04-19-2012, 09:01 PM
Lindsey, from the pictures I don't see where you want to loose weight. But if you do, the best way is to start eating 5-6 small meals a day. Make tuna sandwiches an eat one half and save the other for a few hours later and so on. Keep slice apples deep in peanut butter to snack on.

judy
04-20-2012, 05:23 AM
Cut down on carbs too Linds. And, drink lots of water!

I keep sabotagine myself. I ate a big bag of Tootsie Roll Midgies for dinner this week. I'm just not ready! Usually, I pig out before I begin to seriously watch what I eat. I guess that's what I'm doing.

You all are doing so well!

Lindsey
04-20-2012, 10:41 AM
Jessica, that is really sweet. I know I don't NEED to lose weight, but I just know I was smaller before, and I want to be smaller again. I am 5'8 and 145 lbs. I used to be 5'8 and 125 lbs, but I've filled out since then (hips, chest, and I finally grew a butt lol!) I want to be around 135 though. Even a smidge under 140 I'd be happy with. I am worried though that the weight I lose will be chest and butt!

Gayle, I will try to cut down to 1200 calories.

I normally just snack on fruits and veggies during the day. I'm eating my lunch right now and it's just slices of carrots, celery, and a fat-free yogurt. I try to make healthy food for supper, even if it's just swapping things out in normally unhealthy meals lol... last night was tacos but we used extra-lean gound beef, lots of veggies, low-fat sour cream, and whole wheat tortillas. I ate less than I normally do.

No matter what the scale says, I am still feeling healthier than I did before. I think maybe I should stop looking at the scale every day.

Janet

I've been stuck for a few days, so I'm drinking more water. I do feel like I'm losing and someone asked me the other day if I had lost weight!!!! Yay....I don't see it yet, but I'm sure glad someone did. I know I'll get over this hurdle, but until then, make sure I drink my water and add some exercise. I finally bought me some new walking shoes so I'm planning on walking....

Keep it going Janet! You are doing great!

Diana, maybe you should read the book again. Diabetes is so hard!

I have been ping ponging about 4 pounds lately. I decided that I am going on a more satisfying diet. I have a 100 calorie bagel and a piece of fruit for lunch, and maybe another piece of fruit during the day. I have been eating candy, candy and more candy! I think I'm carb starved! I think I only want to lose about 5 pounds, but maintaining it is so hard! I am very small, so it really shows in my stomach. (5'1" on a good day).

gja1000
05-22-2012, 06:09 AM
I'm right there with you Judy on being short. I'm 5'2" on a good day. I feel your pain, 5 lbs is a jeans size for me.

The ONLY good thing about all this with Gary is that I can't eat when I am upset, so I have lost 6 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I have to force myself to eat and I can eat very little at a time. It feels like there's a big lump in my throat all the time and my stomach feels upset. I feel like I could throw up and it's hard to swallow food. There is a silver lining though, I can eat whatever I want because I can only eat a few bites of it. I'm trying to eat healthy though, I can't get sick from lack of nutrition.

Betsi, I started to write this yesterday and ended up losing it......but I think you're very beautiful and you don't look too heavy. I'm sure having the extra inches in height helps a lot.......if I could just grow 4 more inches maybe I'd look a lot better too!!! Y'all are so sweet, thank you!! Diana, you crack me up! I have a lot of saggy, baggy skin on my body, and I really think it's from losing and gaining large amounts of weight through the years. I inherited my aunts ugly legs...what I would give for ankles...Anyway, they get me where I want to go so I try not to complain:rolleyes: I always thought it was so unfair because my brothers have great legs and I got the ugly ones, lol!!

DianaB

I don't like my legs either.....they are heavy and my ankles are thick!! Arms are flabby!!! It's not a pretty picture!! Don't even try to imagine it!!! :sidesplit: The sad part is that I was 105 before I got pregnant. My Mom and Dad were both small people and my brother is too. I would love to get under 200 lbs. I'm trying but still have about 25 more to go to get there.

It's suppose to kill parasites inside of you.......not that I thought I had any but I thought it couldn't hurt. I've also given some to the dogs!! Yesterday I was so active clear up until I went to bed and even then could have stayed up a little later.

This summer I don't care about my weight. When I lose my stomach people tell me I look anorexic. When I gain (and of course goes to my tummy) they tell me I'm getting older. I am going to enjoy the beach in my bikini and will be showing a few extra pounds and eating everything I can afford :D

If I stayed on my diet, I would probably lose enough weight, but I pigged out twice this weekend!

My new diet is quite liveable too. Ah well!

Gayle, you have to eat nutritious food if you are not able to eat much. I'm sure you know that, but ...I'm just sayin! One day at a time!

Thanks Judy, you are right. I went to the farmers market this afternoon and got some delicious peaches and plums. Oh my, they are so yummy. I also got squash and tomatoes. When I got home today, 3 of my tomatoes were starting to turn pink!!! I picked them and put them in the window. If I let them get ripe on the vine the birds will eat them. I also got a sugar baby watermelon at the grocery store and it was delicious. I hit the jackpot. I couldn't eat any meat tonight, but I did have some yummy fruits and veggies. I really need to lose more weight, but I will take care to eat healthy.

You don't have to force yourself to eat meat but have some nuts you can snack on. I don't think you need to diet at this moment.

Gayle, you know how to take care of yourself and we know that you'll do it. It will be hard to cook for one so try to have your Mom over or go to her place to eat. That way you'll eat better.

Janet
06-03-2012, 08:49 AM
Or send the left over here....you know how I hate to cook!

Seems I'm stuck again, but I'm sure once I get moving it will start coming off again. I really do not like plateau's!

Somehow in the past couple of weeks I managed to lose 4 lbs! It's the first I've lost so far!

Janet
06-06-2012, 06:56 AM
That's great Lindsey! I'm still stuck. But I do have to say I haven't been real good here lately. I haven't gained, but with my nerves being about shot over the rental house and a few other things, I've ate for comfort. I'm going to do much better today and get myself back on track.

Janet
06-08-2012, 06:16 AM
Okay....I know it's only been two days since my last post, but I'm still stuck. I would think that after the workout I got cleaning I would have at least dropped a lb. I'm still stuck at 240-241. I want to break 200 by the time school starts again. So...guess I'm just going to have to try even harder, but don't know it that is possible.

DianaB
06-08-2012, 07:46 AM
We're having a hard time here too. I find myself breaking the diet quite a bit lately. Dae Lynn doesn't help......she's an emotional eater so that makes it hard for me. Plus for her birhtday she made Rice Krispies treats......and they have chocolate and butterscotch chips with peanut butter.......YUMMMMM........There is NO way I can avoid these!!! Now I'm back on the diet!! I do try to stay on it as good as I can because of my diabetes.

The water in the pond is still a little cold but I'm anxious to get in and swimming again. I hope the exercise will help.

Janet
06-10-2012, 10:59 AM
I'm hoping my 'stuck' period is over. I weighed myself this morning and weighed 238. I waited until after I went to town and weighed myself again and still at 238, I am so happy!!!! I think all the working out cleaning finally kicked me over the edge... :) I sure hope this is a sign of things to come. Something I should have done before I started was to measure myself. My pj's are so big on me now and this morning when I put on a pair of shorts, they are big too, so I think I've lost some inches.

DianaB
06-11-2012, 08:20 AM
I bet you're on cloud nine today!!! Doesn't it make you feel good??? I'm so proud of you!!!

Janet
06-11-2012, 12:39 PM
Thank you! It does make me feel good. It's funny that I immediately started feeling thin...LOL...thin at 238 can't ya believe it??? Then I looked in the mirror and thought...sure have a ways to go. I'll get there.

DianaB
06-12-2012, 06:19 AM
I know how you feel........but, hey, you ARE thin and it's so nice to feel that way again. Isn't it? Good job!!

Janet
06-14-2012, 07:20 PM
Okay....guess I'm gonna take a break. I got down to 238 and now I'm back up to 240. Just can seem to get past it. So...I'm just going to forget about it for awhile...oh I'll weigh myself just to make sur I don't gain, but I feel like I need a break.

DianaB
06-15-2012, 07:58 AM
I understand. I'm at that point myself. But....it's hard to go back to eating carbs since I've been off of them for so long. I'm still going to not eat so many of them. I'm hoping that when I start swimming again that I'll start losing. I know that I'm not active enough.

Janet
06-15-2012, 08:17 AM
It's so frustrating and with everything else I'm feeling...I just need to back off the diet. Here I say this and this morning I got on the scales and it said 238....who knows...maybe it was water weight gain.

DianaB
06-15-2012, 12:04 PM
Good. That's encouraging!! I know that the Atkins diet talks about not losing weight. You get to a plateau and can't seem to get off but they say to keep on.......and generally you'll have a sudden drop and lose some more.

Janet
06-15-2012, 12:28 PM
I reach so many plateau's that it is very hard for me not to give up. This time though...I may take a break, but I want this weight off so bad that I won't quit.

Janet
06-20-2012, 04:27 AM
Well.....crap...LOLOL. I got down to 237 and was on cloud nine!!!! Got on the scales this morning and back to 240. I just can't seem to get away from that number for very long. Taking a break....then I'll try again.

gja1000
06-20-2012, 04:34 AM
Sometimes when you hit a plateau, you need to take in just a few more calories for a few days. Don't eat too many more, just a few more sometimes revs up the metabolism.

Janet
06-20-2012, 04:40 AM
Well...that sure won't be hard for me to do....:sidesplit:

DianaB
06-20-2012, 04:23 PM
Don't look at the scales every day......just once a week. Also, stay away from salt! That makes my weight go up and down.......water weight. Hugs!! You're doing great!!!

Janet
06-20-2012, 06:02 PM
I don't do salt anyway...never really cared for salty things much. It's just hard to watch when something doesn't taste salty but has a bunch in it.

07-12-2012, 05:39 AM
Good luck Janet. My sis and bil are drinking those body by vi shakes. To me it sounds like the slim fast fad......but they have lost weight on them. But I think it is pricey.....100.00 per month for each one of them. The shakes are suppose to be packed full of nutrients and good for you but each shake has 225 calories.

Janet
07-12-2012, 08:09 AM
I couldn't do the shake diets....I have to have real food. I'm down to 236 so I just have to keep on trying.

paula1961
07-12-2012, 08:41 AM
I know what ya mean about having to have real food. I'm the same way. You are doing great tho! Every little pound helps.:) I tried the shakes and I thought I was gonna starve to death on them lol!

DianaB
07-13-2012, 08:34 AM
I feel the same way about doing it with food. With the shakes it seems like everyone eventually gains it all back because it's not teaching them to change how they eat.

I've been on Atkins for a year now and even though I'm not losing weight at the moment I have a hard time eating carbs. Potatoes, pasta, and bread I don't really miss much but if there's some homemade bread it's impossible to resist but I don't eat as much as I would before. I still feel so much better than I used to.

You're doing GREAT, Janet!! Keep up the good work!!!

Janet
07-13-2012, 05:49 PM

I haven't been watching my food intake as well as I should be. I'm up a couple pounds, but with this heat affecting my mood, Rick being a liar and trying to get the rental house in good order, I just didn't watch like I should have. At least I didn't gain a bunch...just a couple lbs. but I feel bigger.

Now that the rental is rented again and some other things have been taken care of I hope that I can get myself back on track.

DianaB

I will say a prayer for all you ladies on diets. I am trying to loose 6 pounds. Yes Janet I know I am not fat but my clothes donot fit anymore. I have picked up some weight. Getting old really is starting to SUCK. lol So good luck to all of us.
And the sugar is the hardest thing to give up. I like my pop. I only have one a day, but need to cut back to maybe everyother day. It does not help when people (my husband) goes to the store when you are out and buys you more.
LOL Okay enough said.

Janet
08-01-2012, 05:42 AM
I never have pop, but I do love the sugar...my downfall right now is Cookies and Creme Pop Tarts. Ricky likes them for breakfast on his way to work so they are in the house. They are my chocolate fix for sure.

DianaB
08-03-2012, 09:05 AM
We are having watermelon and cantaloupe from the garden and they are not on my diet but they are so good and healthy......but it's the carbs that I can't have. And ice cream!! It's been so hot so ice cream has sounded so good. Dae Lynn and I went to another town yesterday to buy something off of Craig's list (a little work shop table tor Dean.....Too cute!!) and they have a Dairy Queen so we stopped!! Yummm......they make the best ice cream!! It's a good thing that we don't have one here!!

I'm planning on getting more serious after Dae Lynn moves out!

Janet

Seems like I'm always hungry here lately. Don't know what's wrong but I start getting the shakes so I went to the kitchen, got my a deli turkey sandwich, a few cheeto puffs, glass of milk and pop tarts!!! What the heck is wrong with me... :D I know it's a phase and will go away, but hopefully I won't gain my weight back before it goes.

DianaB

It sounds like your blood sugar is going too low. Do you have a monitor to check your sugars? Try eating more cheese and meat in between meals. They sustain your blood sugar better.

Janet
08-06-2012, 03:42 PM
Just so happens I bought some cheese sticks for snack. I think part of it too is I wait till I'm hungry and by then I'm starved. I need to eat about the same time everyday and have a small snack in between.

DianaB
08-07-2012, 11:57 AM
Yes, that's what you need to do. Small protein snacks inbetween meals and foods with fiber are good too.

I've lost another pound since Diana left. I just can't believe it because I ate like crazy while she was here. I've been going out walking a bit so that may have helped some, but I didn't walk that much.. :) Seems I'm losing some inches because my pants are a little more loose. I'm really hoping that by next spring there will be a very VERY noticeable difference in my size.

I had my body analysis before starting my exercise class. The analysis showed I should lose 20 lbs, but I know that would be too much weight for me to lose and actually I'm not starting exercise class to lose weight. I just want to get into better shape and be more active. It would be nice to lose 10 lbs, and if I do, great, if not that's OK too. There are nutrition classes once a week with the exercise program, so maybe that will help.

Janet
09-07-2012, 08:58 PM
I ate horribly today and I'm still feeling the effects. Don't know why I do that to myself. For the whole day I ate 6 iced donuts, about 10 of the Chewy chips Ahoy cookies, two pcs of left over 3 meat pizza from Little Ceasars and 3 breadsticks with cheese. How awful is that. I feel like my stomach is about to burst. Such a stupid thing to do.

gja1000
09-08-2012, 12:05 PM
Janet, I do the exact same thing. I will binge eat till I feel sick. And there are times when I just can't stop myself. And my binge eating has NOTHING to do with being stressed, sad, upset, or anything. The only thing I can sometimes attribute it to is letting myself get too hungry and then NOTHING will satisfy me for the rest of the day. It is soooo frustrating.

Janet
09-08-2012, 04:28 PM
I feel some of mine is stress, but the other is just as you, letting myself get too hungry. I get busy doing something and don't want to stop to eat. I sure hope I learn....I'm gonna try to remember this awful feeling so it won't happen as often.

DianaB
09-13-2012, 07:08 AM
Actually you should have three snacks a day. One in the morning.....one in the afternoon....and one in the evening. Not big heavy snacks buy light ones. A cheese stick and some grapes or fruit. I keep cheese sticks and sliced cheese on hand and that helps me. I also eat almonds. They help alot since I can't have chips.

I've been pretty good for the last couple of days......then last night after the Alley we had a meeting and our Pastor and his wife brought in ice cream and root beer!! I just had some ice cream......but I really shouldn't have. I've got to start saying NO!!!

I've still been cooking Atkkins meals since Dae Lynn left so hopefully I'll start doing better soon!!

Janet
09-13-2012, 08:53 AM
I went to town yesterday and bought a few odds and ends to get me started again. Today I've done really good and recorded it all in MyFitnessPal.com. I feel like I've eaten enough, but still have a bit of the shakes, so I'm making sure I drink plenty of water. I don't like feeling hungry.

I'm not really one to snack on chips or things of that nature. My downfall is cookies, sweets, chocolate. I did buy some of the 100 calorie pack cookies again so I won't over eat them. Sure wish the next couple of days were already past so I'd be use to watching again. I am using the Ab Lounger and I really like it.

Janet

The energy thing is what I'm wanting more of... :) I read that vitamin B12 is good for low energy...is that right? I've been reading a bit about it, but can't decide if it's something I should start taking or not. Anyone else have thoughts on B12?

gja1000

Yes, B12 is good for low energy. But in the past it was most effective taken by a shot. I don't know if that still true.

DianaB

Janet

gja1000
09-24-2012, 07:55 PM
I'm just the opposite, when I'm stressed I can't eat. So when things are going well, that's when I'm most likely to overeat. . And sometimes I just can't stop eating and I don't know why.

Janet
09-26-2012, 05:36 AM

gja1000

I'm learning in my exercise class that exercise doesn't really help with weight loss. It's the number of calories taken in, that is the trick. EVERYONE says you must track your food, that is the most reliable to control the calories in.

Lindsey
10-09-2012, 10:57 AM
Are any of you guys on My Fitness Pal? I just started tracking calories again because I have gained in the last month. If anyone else uses it we could friend on it. I'm going to have to look this up when I have time. I need something to get me to movin".......exercise wise. For some reason I have a lot of energy at the moment....that's why I'm getting so much done. I went to bed last night and couldn't fall asleep because I had so much energy. I'm not doing anything different but I'm enjoying getting things done. The weight has been coming back on but I'm not sure how much......broken scales. Lindsey
10-17-2012, 11:08 AM
Yes I am still using it! I am doing pretty well I think. This week I have started going on the treadmill right after work. We have it set up in front of the projector screen and we have a good sound system (we watch movies there) so I just watch tv while I'm walking :) Scott has been coming up to sit and watch while I walk too. My treadmill shows how many calories I've burned, and it is always more than what My Fitness Pal says, so I just push up my walking time until I have matching calories on the app lol! I have walked for an hour both days this week, at about 3.5 mph. My calves are sore, but it's good for me! When I was at my smallest, and in the best shape (when I was a teenager, even though I know my body has changed naturally since then!) I went for walks with my friends every single night.

I have been keeping under my calorie goal this week so far too. No weight lost though. I am fluctuating up to 5 lbs every day. My goal is 10 lbs less than I weighed this morning!

Janet
10-23-2012, 02:12 PM

That's great Judy! I gained so now I have to work hard to get it back off. I was doing 50 reps on my ab lounger and today I upped it to 100 reps. 50 of a morning and 50 of an afternoon. Sure hope it helps. Tomorrow, even though I probably can't afford it, I'm checking out an exercise place near me tomorrow.

I gained so much weight over the summer! Remember I lost 29 pounds? Well, I gained back 36!!!

I like WW....it''s more sensible.

If you can't see your way clear to spending $ on the gym, look at it as something important for your health. You wouldn't deny yourself preventive medicine, would you?

I've gained most of my weight back too. I had to pull out all of the old clothes!! UGH!!! I feel so much better on the Atkins diet that I'm going back on it. I started on Sunday.

Good job everyone for trying to get back on track. Me too. I had gained a few pounds over the Holidays and now I don't want to get back in the "eating right" saddle. But I am trying and I think I've lost a couple pounds. Of course, I need to lose about 15, not sure that will happen, but I'm thinking about it. HA!

I have started going into work 45 minutes early and walking the halls. Our county building is the old High School. SO i have 3 floors to walk and 3 flights of stairs.

You are so ambitious, Linda!! My knees just kill me on stairs!!

I started back on my diet last week and so far have lost a little weight. It's encouraging and keeps me going. Hopefully I'll be down more by the time the cruise comes around. I feel so uncomfortable at this weight.
