Last night I went to visit my friend and her Mom at the nursing home. The only gas station in town had the price at $3.93 so I filled up. On my way home, about 4.0 hours later....it was $4.15/gal.

I don't know how some people are going to be afford to drive to work especially if they work out of town. Is it ever going to stop? I don't understand why we can't use our own and drill for more.

I know this was a long time ago, but I remember riding my bike with a gallon gas can to the gas station a few blocks from our house so I could mow the lawn. Gas was 25 cents a gallon.

That is quite a price jump!! Good thing you filled up when you did.

I don't understand gas prices. We have oil in Texas and Alaska plus other places.......I know that we use a lot but I would think that what we have would cover our usage. Plus....you KNOW that with our technology there has been things invented to help our gas mileage. It's ALL a rip-off!!!

I believe you're right Diana!

It keeps going up here too! And the price of oil keeps going down. Who comes up with that???

The other silly thing is we have so much oil here!!! But from what I understand, we sell it to the US, where it is refined, and then we buy it back for higher prices. I don't get the reasoning, but I guess it's to keep the trade and relations up.

Scott and I have discussed getting a Prius or something similar for commuting every day. We've even discussed electric cars such as the Leaf and the Volt... the battery charge would be enough to get us to work and back! But for now we're stuck paying gas prices lol.

Lindsey i have recently bought the Toyota Auris HSD Hybrid, its just slightly smaller car than the Prius. It is fantastic, i am getting 60 mpg, and it is so nice to drive too.

Our fuel prices are horrendous at the moment i have just filled up my 45 litre tank and it was £1.47 per litre, last week it was only £1.37. We have a threat of a tanker drivers strike, and it has caused panic buying at the petrol stations.

What with the sad state the economy is in at the moment, it is putting a big strain on everyone.

You know what pisses me off

The people that work in the oil business. My ex works for an oil company an one time we were driving and he said "S**t the gas price is down" I said, good we need that. And he said it wasn't good for the company. The higher the gas price the more promotions they get from there already wealthy asses.

Well I just came back from Oklahoma City and gas over there is 3.65, Huntsville, TX it was 3.74 and here in Houston any where from 3.74 to 4 something.

It's still over $4 here. I don't like putting money in the tank!

Diane.....your price is by the LITER!!! Wow!! That's pretty expensive!!! Thank heaven's you're getting such great gas mileage!! I've not heard of that kind of Toyota in the states. I have a friend that has the Prius and she raved about it.

We drive a Tahoe and I can tell you that our gas mileage is horrible but for us to drive anything smaller just wouldn't work. We use ours so much to haul things and it really is another farm vehicle.

Janet, your husband is a mechanic......why don't you ask him to invent something just for us to extend our gas mileage......oh to about.....200 mpg!!! You know it CAN be done!!

I know...he should really do something about it!!! I've always told him that he should make a car come when I call it so I don't have to try and find it in a parking lot!! lol.

We don't have that car here either!! Our gas is around $1.30/litre right now. We spend about $60 a week commuting to the city for work, and double that if we go visit either of our parents on the weekend!

It is about $4.03/gallon right now. Our 3 gas stations overcharge to begin with because we are in a rural area, and have to go there.

I kmow several people who have the Prius, and they love the gas mileage. I doubt if I could use it up here. I need AWD, and a heavier car. I pay near $60 to fill up. If I go anywhere, I have to figure at least $30 into the trip for gas!

I usually fill up every other week, so I am lucky there. The whole situation is ridiculous!!!

I pay over $60 to fill up. However I don't drive much......I stay home through most of the week. I'm like you, Judy, we need 4-wheel drive to get up our hill when it's bad in the wintertime.......that or walk up the hill.......Not happening!!! Dae Lynn's car is much better gas mileage and we can us that if we want to.

Our gas has dropped to $3.75. Not sure why, but then again, never know why it goes up so much. I don't drive my van much either, maybe once or twice a week. I try to combine all I need to do in one trip to town.

I know that we've cut back on driving. We used to drive out of town a lot on Sunday's to eat but we hardly ever do that anymore. We also tend to go shopping together more now than we used to and travel together more. Of course with the farming there's just no way to cut back on what you need. Everything costs so much when it comes to farming!!
