I'm so sad right now...... I lost my Zoe today. She was my sweet 4 lb little yorkie girl. My heart is broken. She loved being outside. She was barking to go out and it was way too hot, so I let her out for just a couple of minutes. Several hours later after talking Emma to Chickfila and the zoo we got home and I went to let the dogs out and only Zeke was there. I knew instantly and rushed outside. She had been dead for a while. How to ever recover from this......

So sorry for the loss of your Zoe Marilyn. Was she left out while you all were gone? I didn't quite understand your post. I understand though, if something were to ever happen to my Joey...it would just break my heart to pieces.

She was left out in the heat. I miss her so much and tomorrow I have to fly on business. I just want to curl up somewhere.

Thank you for your thoughts. I'm trying to get over this. I'm waiting for my flight at Bush Intercontinental in Houston. Nothing is interesting. I've got to get a handle on things. My company expects me to do good this week. People are counting on me and I'm a mess!! Now that's more I's than are allowed in one sentence. Sorry about that!!! I can't get the last vision of poor sweet Zoe out of my mind. How could I have forgotten to let her back in!!!!

It's really hard Marilyn, but accidents do happen, especially when there is chaos and things are going on. I know you feel so badly and nothing nor anyone will make you feel better. You just have to work through it. It is so hard to lose a beloved pet, it's just awful. Time will help. She will always be in your heart. Your good memories of her will help you through it.

I am so sorry Marilyn for your lose. Things like this just happen and there is nothing you can do to change it. I know it has to be hard for you, but hopefully with time you will remember the good times with her.

I'm so sorry, Marilyn! Try not to be too hard on yourself. I'm sorry you have to travel when you just need to be home to grieve. God bless your heart!

Hi Marilyn,
I'm new here. I cannot tell you how sorry I am to hear this. My just heart breaks for you. Healing from something like this will take time. It's a very personal journey and everyone heals at a different rate. I think that it's important that you be gentle and loving with yourself right now. We who love our fur babies, we understand. Sometimes it just helps to write about your feelings, or talk to family and/or close friends and get it all out. Do whatever works for you to try to get through this difficult time in your life. I'm here if you need to talk.

So sad for you
Marilyn, I am so sorry for your loss! There are no words for such sadness as losing a pet. I know you will pray and get through this.
I don't think we ever really stop missing a pet! She is playing with my little Gracie now in puppy heaven.

Oh my gosh!!!! I am soooo sorry! :( What a tragedy! I would never think that heat could do that, but I'd be tragically wrong also. (((HUGS))) RIP Sweet Zoe.

Oh Marilyn......I am sooooo sorry to hear about Zoe. I know that you must feel just awful but as Gayle mentioned.....accidents happen. I hope that you're able to concentrate on your job and put your sadness aside to deal with later. I know that you're going to miss Zoe terribly. Wish I were there to give you a big hug!!!

Thank you all!!!! Your kind words mean a lot!!! As time goes by, it's getting easier. We're down to one dog now, Zeke our rat terroir we rescued and nursed back to health a couple of years ago. He was lost for a few days. Melissa and Garrett moved out taking their English bulldog, Mack, and then Zoe passed & poor Zeke was so lost. He doesn't like being alone and didn't know what to do. Now his personality is coming out and he's becoming quite the center of attention. When I get home from work he runs circles around my feet. He never did that before. Maybe this is God's way of helping to fill the void. I still miss Zoe so much, but every day is a little easier.
Again, thank you for being here to lean on!!!!
I'm so glad that you are healing. Sounds like Zeke is helping too!

I've thought of you so often. I'm glad to hear that it's getting better. Sounds like Zeke is filling the void. I'm sure it's hard for him too.....especially with the other dog moving out.
