View Full Version : Laura Mercer Makeup
Rebecca I was reading some of your threads on YT about this particular brand of makeup.. But the threads are of many lol.. I see that you really love this brand. I am presently using Bare Minerals I like it, but as far as under eye conceler it does nothing for me. You said that you use a particular under eye conceler can you tell me what its called? Where do I buy this makeup ? Btw your a beautiful girl inside and out ...

Oh yes! I LOVE LOVE LOVE every single one of Laura Mercier's products. I especially love the eye concealers and eye foundations.
Here is what I use daily and how I use it:
1. Undercover (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/flawless_face/concealers/undercover/) under my eyes. I get a little of each color on my middle finger and dab it under my eye. It also acts as a concealer you can use all over your face. LOVE this stuff.
2. Eye Basics (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/eyes/creme_eye_colour/eye_basics/) on my eyelid as an eye foundation or primer before I put on my eye shadow. This stuff is wonderful. It keeps my eye shadow on ALL DAY and it prevents my eye shadow from creasing or running.
3. All of her Eye Shadows (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/eyes/#eye_colour), matte and shimmer alike, are wonderful. And they last FOREVER! I have several different colors of the eye shadow and I've never run out of any of them.
4. I'm not gonna lie...I use El Cheapo Eye Liner and Mascera. My favorite eyeliner is Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner (http://www.revlon.com/product.asp?ProductID=5081&Mode=catalog). This stuff is waterproof and it lasts all day and even throughout the night. LOVE it! My favorite mascera is Loreal Panoramic Curl (http://www.lorealparisusa.com/frames.asp#cosmetics/index.asp). The main reason I like this mascera is because it is the best one at separating that I've ever tried...and I've tried a lot of them!
5. Sometimes I wear foundation and sometimes I do not. If I DO wear foundation, then I use Oil-Free Foundation Primer (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/flawless_face/foundation_primer/foundation_primer_oil_free/). They also have it in Original (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/flawless_face/foundation_primer/foundation_primer/) or Hydrating (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/flawless_face/foundation_primer/foundation_primer_hydrating/). Then I use Oil-Free Foundation (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/flawless_face/#foundation). The I use Translucent Loose Setting Powder (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/flawless_face/setting_powder/loose_setting_powder/) on top of my foundation to seal it all in.
6. If I do not use foundation one day, then I use the Translucent Loose Setting Powder (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/flawless_face/setting_powder/loose_setting_powder/) first then use Foundation Powder (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/flawless_face/foundation/foundation_powder/) on top of that.
7. Then, after I use either the foundation or foundation powder, I use blush (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/cheeks/cheek_colour/cheek_colour/). Her blush is great, and like all her other products, it lasts FOREVER!
8. All of her lipsticks and lipglosses are fabulous, also. The Lip Glace (http://www.lauramercier.com/products/colour/lips/lip_gloss/lip_glace/) is my favorite lip gloss because you can use it by itself or on top of lipstick and it stays on ALL DAY LONG! I have a bunch of the colors.
So, that is pretty much it. Here is the main website if you wanna take a look at all her stuff.
http://www.lauramercier.com/shop.php
It is a little pricey, but I'm telling you, it really does last forever and ever. I've been using this makeup for 8 years now and I rarely have to purchase refills....maybe once a year, if that.
If you want to just start out with something to build upon, I would start with the Eye Basics, Undercover, Foundation Primer, Foundation, and Foundation Powder. Those products are fabulous and those are the reason my face looks so flawless. You can start with those products and then just use el-cheapo everything else until you can afford to add on to your collection.
If you try it, LET ME KNOW how you like it!!!!!!!! My mother and grandmother both use this makeup, too.

Carolyn , let me know how you like it once you have tried it.. I will be going to the Freehold Mall, next week. I am just wondering if the Monmouth Mall has Sephora?
Gina I just got back from the mall and Sephora only sells Laura Mercier online. I went to Nordstrom and spent almost $100 on lipstick, secret camouflage and loose powder. The powder puff was $12!! I didn't buy the concealer brush since I have one. She also gave me a sample of the foundation primer. I had no intention on buying lipstick but I saw a great color and they put it on my and I loved it!
I'm going to try what I bought tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes.:)

I am not too sure what color mine is. I'll have to look when I get home. I use the compact and I get a little of each color on my finger at the same time and dab it with my finger under my eyes. But the secret camoflauge is awesome by itself, too!!!

GINA! I just looked on the website and actually SECRET CONCEALER, not secret camoflauge, is better from under the eyes. Here it is:
http://www.lauramercier.com/products/flawless_face/products/concealers/secret_concealer/
The Secret Concealer goes on better under the eyes than the secret camoflauge. The secret camoflauge is better for imperfections on the rest of your face.

Well, this thread has convinced me to checkout this makeup. I tried two different brands of the mineral makeups, and they did not work for me.
Rebecca, do you know what products your mother and grandmother use, foundations and powders that is? What type stores carry this makeup? Our town is not very large, so may have to order online.

Well I used the makeup yesterday and I love it! The foundation primer makes your makeup go on so nice. I used the secret camouflage under my eyes and to even out my skin and then I finished with the loose powder and my new lipstick Belle Du Jour.
I had a birthday party yesterday and my best friend told me I looked beautiful! :)

Can't figure out what colors to order. The website suggested two shades of foundation, blush ivory and vanilla beige. I may call them tomorrow to see what they recommend. Don't know if they mean to choose from the two or mix the two.
One of the problems with ordering online, and you don't know if your monitor is displaying the actual color or not.

Marilyn, my mother and grandmother use basically the same products I use:
Foundation Primer -- my mom uses the oil free and my grandmother uses either the original or the hydrating
Foundation
Loose setting powder
Secret Concealer
Secret Camoflauge

I need help !! My friend did give me a Gift Card :) :) he's my sugar daddy without the sugar :D- what a nice thing to do...which is one of the things I love about him -- It took him THREE Trips to get it and fought the Mall Parking at Christmas for this thing - poor guy ...I feel SO special lol
so - What should I do with it ??? I have a bunch of Bare Minerals Powder that my buddy Sherry Lynn didn't use and sent me a while back -- I really like it ....but would like to find something to try -
does LM offer sample products to try or do they only have the samples in the store ?? I don't do samples in stores....no way :confuse2:

I decided rather than try to buy such expensive makeup online, I'd better go to a store that sells it and find out just what colors will work best. I ordered the Bare Minerals and it did not work for me & my hubby had thrown away the box with all the paperwork, so I was stuck with it.
Anyway, I checked the store locator on the website good news is, there are several stores in Texas, all however in excess of 100 miles from here, in Houston, Austin, San Antonio. Just don't know when I will get that way. Corpus Christi is closer, and I work there every other week, but no stores in Corpus that carry LM.
Once I get everything figured out, I can order online. May have to head to one of these cities later this week. Y'all all have me wanting to try this makeup just to see what it is like.

I just got back from the mall and bought the foundation primer. I had a sample the woman gave me but I ran out and I love it alot! Villette you use the Bare Minerals foundation right? I'm not sure how the primer works with that kind of foundation though.
I was going to buy the foundation also but Christmas Day in my stocking was the Estee Lauder foundation from my husband. I love it and he's so sweet! But I did want to try Laura Mercier foundation. Oh well another time.
I also really love the secret camoflauge concealer. My face has been looking pretty flawless since I've been using it. :)

I finally got to Austin today and visited Nordstrom's at Barton Creek. I bought the Laura Mercier One Step Cleanser, Mega-Moisturizer, Eyedration, Foundation Primer, Silk Creme Floundation & Secret Concealer. They gave me some samples of Face Polish. I meant to buy the Citrus Serum & some blush, but realized after I left that I had forgotten to get them. I can always buy them online, or call Nordstrom's and have them shipped to me. I'm really anxious to try them all out myself. They applied them at the store and a friend of mine and Melissa both said that the Laura Mercier looked better than my regular makeup. I'm sure when I apply it myself it will look even better. Just wanted to share!!

I finally placed an order this morning for bunches of face makeup. I had to order it online as the stores around my town don't carry it, ugh. Wasn't bad though since Laura Mercier's website is offering "free shipping" right now.
I ordered primer, two different concelers (eye and face), foundation, setting powder, and two lip items. ( I am really hoping this makeup is magic and will make me beautiful ) :D
I have this really weird two prong pitch fork looking vein thingy right under the corner of my right eye. I've had it for years. (even when I was young). People, even strangers will tell me "your eye make up is running.". When infact I have to tell them "no, it's not my makeup it's a vein". I really get embarassed!! :(
So, I am hoping the eye concealer will help. I've tried so many over the years and have found nothing yet that truly works. At times, it's almost anything I use actually adds more attention to the veins.
I look forward to the makeup arriving so I can try it.

OOOOhhhh, Sheryl, what fun!! I really like trying out new makeup like this. I didn't get the setting powder. The clerk at the store talked me out of it. She said using the primer and foundation gives a bit of a powdery effect and you don't want to take away all of your glow and leave your face with a matte finish. A little glow looks more natural, healthy and youthful. She said if I wanted to use the setting powder, to do so very sparingly. All of the Laura Mercier, I'm finding, goes a long way. You use like half a small pea of foundation for your entire face.
I really love the concealer. I didn't really think that I needed it, but using it in the area under the eye near the nose where black shadows can appear really brightens your face and eyes. She did one side and let me look so I could see the effect.
I wore my new makeup to church this morning, and a couple of people commented that I really looked nice today. I didn't buy any new eye color, lip color or blush, just used my old stuff there, and I always use moisturizer, foundation and powder, so there was not a huge difference in what I had applied other than it was Laura Mercier instead of Oil of Olay moisturizer, MaxFactor foundation & CoverGirl powder, but I can tell a big difference in how I look, and a couple of people seemed to notice, too.

I have never ordered something online and tried to match my skin so I honestly don't know! I know the foundation primer is AWESOME! You could get that and then some concealer....the secret concealer that you put under your eyes is AWESOME! That would be easier to match I think. I also love the foundation powder. I use that everyday and only use the foundation on special occassions. I also love the Eye Basics....it is like a foundation you put on your eyelid before you apply your eye shadow. It is AMAZING! Makes your eyeshadow stay on all day with NO CREASING!

I use that everyday and only use the foundation on special occassions. I also love the Eye Basics....it is like a foundation you put on your eyelid before you apply your eye shadow. It is AMAZING! Makes your eyeshadow stay on all day with NO CREASING!
thank you !! I know I asked you before but wanted to get more specific - maybe I should go to the mall and see first - but they have free shipping and that's a great deal on their site too - I'm going to look again and see and I'll let you know what I order -

The foundation primer is the product I think is the most Awesome!! It evens out you skin and fills in imperfections before applying your foundation. The Silk Cream Foundation is supposed to be a full coverage, but it's very sheer. When I have the primer and foundation on, I don't look made up. My skin looks smoother and natural. I'd like to try the powder. As I said before, the clerk talked me out of it. I may order online and see how I like it.
BTW, Villette, I'd never have been able to order the right colors online. The lady in the store was very helpful in finding the correct shades.
I like Laura Mercier MUCH better than the Bare Minerals. Totally different products.

We have this brand new outdoor fancy mall that was recently built. One of the stores is this chic make-up/fragrance store. They carry sooo many brands of make-up yet not Laura Mercier. They told me they could order it for me but I couldn't see the point of it.
So i had no choice but to order online and then take my chances on picking the correct color. Their website described each color w/ your skin tone so I am not too worried about picking the incorrect shade.
I do wish though that this make up would arrive, it seem's it's been ages. I am anxious to write my own testimony about it. :p

I really really like this make up!! It doesn't get cakey or make your face feel grungy after wearing it for the day. One of my favorites is this lip balm I got. Oooohhhhhh it feels so good and really moisturizes my lips. I think I am hooked on this stuff! :p
The foundation primer is awesome and I really like the concealers too. :D

I've been wearing my Laura Mercier for about 3 weeks now, and I love it!!! It has inspired me to take better care of my skin & I can see that my pores are much smaller, my skin smoother, and the wrinkles less defined. The one step cleanser is the greatest!!!!!! I still have some of my Oil of Olay Regenerist, so for now, I'm combining the two. Before going to bed, I use the LM cleanser, OofO Regenerist Syrum with LM Eyedration, OofO night cream & Burt's Bees lip balm.
In the morning when I shower I use the OofO Regenerist Cleanser in the shower, then use OofO Syrum, LM Eyedration, Mega-Moisturizer, Foundation Primer, and the Silk Creme Floundation & Secret Concealer. Finish off with some CoverGirl Blush and my normal eye makeup from the grocery store.
I want to try the LM lip balm now, Sheryl, and the Eye Basics, Rebecca.
My skin is looking so much better & I look nice without looking like I'm wearing heavy makeup.
Thank you so much ladies for sharing the information on this makeup. I'd never heard of it before 4WT.
With my new hairstyle, thanks to my Russian friend and new makeup thanks to y'all, I feel much better about my appearance. You are the greatest!!!!

That is so awesome Marilyn. It truly is great "heading out into the world" feeling as if your face is refreshed, etc.
I really am loving the LM make-up also!!! Especially the concelear for the eyes. It does hide my vein under the eye/corner. I don't think I need the face concealer as the foundation pretty much smooths everything out, but will continue to use it until it's gone.
I am totally ADDICTED to the lip balm!!!!! It feels sooooo wonderful on and does last. I have a habit of licking my lips or biting at them and I know the balm would last longer if Id just learn to leave my lips alone, LOL. :D (just another nervous habit of plenty!!)
I too will have to try the eye basics and the all in one wash. Always up to try new things!!!
I am curious to see how my make up holds up when it becomes warm and humid outside. Arkansas can be one hot humid place come summer time, whew!! Out riding my face sweats sooo much and I'm hoping the foundation will hold up ok. But if it doesn't no biggy. I guess that if a makeup holds up with sweat pouring off your face then that makeup would be too thick or pasty. GROSS!
Anyway...Glad you are happy Marilyn...ME TOO!! ;)

You have a new hairstyle too???? Where's the pic so we can see?
I wanted to try the makeup so bad, and even though you all told me it lasts a long time, I just can't spend that much. I thought my husband was going to get me some for Christmas, but when he saw the prices, decided to get me something else. I hardly ever wear makeup anyway, and to spend that much is way beyond my budget. Maybe someday............

It's been in the low 80's and very humid here. We're near the gulf coast. So far so good. If it holds up to the summer heat here, it's definitely miraculous. I think the LM distribution is out of Houston, so I would think it would do well, and LM is so much lighter coverage. The makeup I did use melted on my face and got all over my cell phone. Yuck!!
Janet, I'll try to post a pic. It's hard to get someone to take a picture of me when I'm fresh and looking good because I normally leave earlier than the rest of the family due to my commute. Maybe next weekend there will be an opportunity. I looked good yesterday. I'm a little ragged this evening, it's been a long busy day.

Yes, just as Marilyn said...Thanks for telling us about the Laura Mercier make-up. This is why this forum is soooo great. Everyone sharing their ideas!
It's amazing how clean my face feels at the end of the day wearing this makeup. Normally other products felt gunky and almost sticky after a few hours.
