Lets share a few details we haven't shared before... in this thread, post some little known or UNknown fact about yourself for the rest of us to get to know you better.

My husband is a farmer and I help out by driving the tractor and combine when he's short-handed. I didn't think that I would ever drive the combine. There's so many buttons and levers that it would be nice to have a third hand!!!!

You might not have known that my husband is almost done with medical school. He wants to go into Ophthalmology and specialize in Retina surgery and eye trauma surgery. That is where all our student loans have come from! EEK!

When I worked at Frito Lay, I did most every job, except for the kitchen area!

My favorites were running the cranes and backing the semi-trailers to the docks.

Tink, you sound like me. I love Christmas and all the decorations, but it takes so long and my house just turns into one big mess in the process. The tree is up and the decorating's started. In the meantime boxes of ornaments are everywhere and probably will be until I get the tree finished. (I collect ornaments and I have a LOT of them!!)

I'm an intelligent blonde =P

I declared majors in English, Biology, and History my freshman year of college, I'm now a Political Science major

I have a great respect and love for firefighters, I have for years, and I was floored when I found out that the guy I was crushing on when I first moved away for college is a firefighter. We've been dating for 3 and 1/2 months now :D

I read 4 or 5 books a week and can spell anything! When I went back to school after my divorce from my first husband, I had a smart ass teacher who wanted to call out a long list of words to see if I could spell before I started her class. I told her that if she could pronounce it, I could spell it:)

I can't eat spaghetti unless I have dill pickles with it!

I sang in a band when I was married to my first husband :p

I married my first husband twice!

I eloped at 16

I won a prize for poetry a couple of years ago.

Let's see......It's hard to think of anything interesting.

I was married 11 years before having children.

In my work, I've climbed a lot of equipment in petrochemical plants. I've been on top of polyethylene reactors. Quite a climb, but quite a view as well. It's very flat around here, so when you climb high you can see for miles. I've also been inside a boiler drum (that's where, when it's running, all the hot water is that is turning into steam.)

Grew up on a farm, with no brothers, so can do lots of farm stuff. Also helped my mom, so can take a chicken from the yard to the table.

Changed majors twice before graduating...Biology to Home Economics to Mechanical Engineering.

Oh this is interesting I guess.....

I interned at the United States Senate in Washington D.C. during the summer of 2004. It was very interesting meeting U.S. Senators like Elizabeth Dole, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards, Joe Liberman, ect. in person and seeing what they are really like! :p :p :p

Here I go

I changed my major six times in school before ending up in management.

I love math

I took singing lessons as a kid

I showed quarter horses on the national level all through high school & part of college

My mom (yes my mom) raises horses & farms near 400 acres; my dad owns the company I work for.

Governor Bowen (if you are from Indiana you probably know who this is) is from my home town & delivered my mom. When he was running for office my mom & some of her friends had shirts that said I'm a Bowen Baby.

I earned a 1st place 3 years running in state vocal contests while in high school.
I used to sing at funerals, weddings, and local programs of all sorts. I played guitar and taught myself to play a banjo to provide background music for a bonnie and clyde type production in my jr year. I never picked up a banjo again. ;)

I got to help deliver a baby and remove a pin from a mans hip while in training for my EMT certification. It was cool!

I was given an ultimatum by a drunk boyfriend when I was 15... "put out or walk"... so I walked 6 miles in pouring rain in the dark to the nearest farm; after kneeing him where it hurt!

I reported a superior for sexual harrassment of myself and 5 other women working on the ambulance service. When nothing was done, I called every member on the County EMS board to complain and he was fired within 24 hrs. A few months later he died of brain cancer. :(

Hmm some things about me...

I was the lead in our school muscial my senior year of highschool...it was Oklahoma.

I was offered a chance to record a Christian Album a few years back, but I chickened out.

I hated the people I went to school with and I have tried very hard to forget the names of my classmates and even though this will be our ten year reunion this year, I refuse to go. They would have to pay me.

I had the same problem in elementary school. I was the worst softball player in my class, partly because I was the smallest. Plus, I'm not very coordinated. Went to a small country school where PE was always softball & I was always picked last. It was humiliating. Also had acne in high school. I feel your pain.:o

You might not have known.

That when I was in high school the boys would bark at me as I walked down the hall. I went to my 10 yr class reunion 18 years ago and one of the guys that barked at me came up to me and told me I was a knock out. That was the first and the last reunion I went to.

When i turned 40 I broke my foot, had a flare up with my colitis, lost 15 pounds got down to 100 lbs. had to have a root canal, was put on predizone and gained 30 pounds and my dog died. :1luvu:

I would love to write a novel someday.

Never went to college because my grades were so bad and my parents were very poor.

I hate Math.

I love to write poems.

I Love My Friend Janet because she is very sweet and we share the same sister in law. And I miss her very much and I hope she can connect with her best friend really really soon.;)

You should have went to one more reunion and brought a CHOKER COLLAR for that barking jerk!! Kids can be so cruel.

I would like to write a novel some day too! I've kept a journal for years and have kept one for my son too! People are sure gonna know me better dead than alive, that's for sure!!

I didn't know you liked writing poems. I use to write poems all the time. Now it's mostly for special occasions.

I love you too, really I do. I'm glad that you're happy living up north, but it would be so nice if you still lived here. It's so hard to find the time to travel very far and I'm not thrilled with driving very far alone!!

Me too Janet! I've had journals since I was 9 years old! I've been made fun of a lot for still keeping one because most people think of it as having a pre-teen diary kind of thing. But sometimes when I'm feeling bad, writing about it is all that makes me feel better!

fun topic
I guess things that people might not know are
I could read all alone by age 4 (this freaked people out because I have always been really small for my age, so it looked like some 3 year old was reading the offensive things on people t shirts lol)
Even though I'm small, I've always been the bully, not the bullied lol
I'm really honest, and hate lying, and I honestly don't lie often. I have never spoken poorly behind someones back and not told them how I felt to their face.
I'm hungry!

Let's see...my life has been so boring!!!!!

1. I took piano lessons for 6 years
2. I got a piano/voice scholarship for college.
3. I lost my scholarship after a semester because I joined a sorority and stopped doing my school work.
4. My first husband was abusive.
5. I was raised an only child but I have a half brother that lives in Germany.
6. My step-brother (my dad's wife's child) is wanted by the FBI.
7. I don't like my stepmother...she thinks her and her children are perfect and always ragged on me but yet, her son is in trouble and her daughter hasn't spoken to her in years.

Almost every week before my husband leaves he gets very crabby and critical. He finds it easier to leave if he's mad at us than if he's not, so acts up; then convinces himself it's US that caused it. This has gone of for years. For the most part I simply ignore it since I know where it comes from.

I'm gonna add some more..
-I have two sets of drums
-I am learning to ride a sportbike
-I eat chips EVERY DAY
-I used to get in trouble for doing my brother's math homework for him when he was in Grade 2 and I was in Kindergarten
-My cousin just asked me to be her daughter's godmother

You might not have known.......that I've had super-long hair all my life until May 2005 when I donated 11 1/4 inches to Locks of Love. A year later, I cut off another 12 1/4 inches....so in 1 year (+1 mo.) time, I donated TWO FEET of hair to Locks of Love.

Now it's been 9 months since my last big haircut, and my hair is a tad big below my shoulders. I'm well on my way to growing it long to donate it again....maybe?

Have any of you donated your hair to Locks of Love? (or is my asking this question hijacking this thread? lol)

Tink

Well done on the locks of love donations!

I haven't donated, but I did suggest it to my granddaughter who ended up donating to it. She had a cousin who was only a yr older than her who lost her hair to chemo, so she was proud to be able to share her hair with another child.

My grandbabies are blessed with unusually thick, fast growing hair from birth. Paide was 6 when she donated and had plenty to share and still have a cute bob. Aubri, who will be 2 in May, has hair past her waist already that's thick and wavy... just gorgeous!

I love the program and encourage people to donate whenever I can.

I'm "addicted" to doing it now! Any other haircut feels "wasteful" to me. LOL!

Oh, I forgot something that I should have put on that list. I LOVE outdoors stuff. Rock-climbing and rappelling are two of my favorite things to do. This is why I love working as a camp counselor so much. I get to spend time with kids and be a kid myself at the same time. I got to do archery, tubing, playing in the river, climbing the sides of mountains, doing challenge courses 60 feet in the air, and lots of other fun stuff! :)

Oh my goodness!!! I didn't know you were thinking of getting a Yorkie!! That's awesome! I must warn you though, they are very fragile and might not work out very well with 4 kids. But they are definitely precious. If you do decide to get one, you might want to try to get the biggest one you can find because they will be less likely to be accidentally injured by one of the kids. A few pounds can make a huge difference.

Oh you will definitely need to research what foods are safe. There was a HUGE recall recently and it feels like more and more stuff is on that list. IAMS was one of the first. It should be fixed by the time you get it, but I am so scared to buy food now. I will probably never buy from any of those brands again! I remember that. I think it was Thanksgiving or Christmas. & I think Brendon did try it to. Bobby said it was good just too dry. & I think Brendon agreed & said it was chicken jerky.
