Eyebrow Tatoo

When I was in 6th grade.. the "in" thing was to shave your eyebrows and draw them in.. (gosh i was SO stupid!) lol..

well of course my eyebrows didn't really grow back.. and i always had to shade them in.. and i got sooo sick and tired of it.. and always having to make sure they are the same on each side lol..

that I got my eyebrows tattoo'd! and it's the best thing i think i've done yet LOL..

takes a load off in the morning.. cause i already have brows! lol..

I got them done the same time my cousin was getting a retouch before she moved to Japan. my mom and a lot of my coworkers have done them..

and im glad i did! :) anyone here have tatoo'd eyebrows? lol :p

That is indeed correct. My mom got her eyeliner tattoo'd and she said the whole time she wanted to kill the lady doing it LOL..

then again, the person who did my eyebrows is my cousins mother in law.. and she tattoo'd her eyeliner herself :eek:

i dont think i can get that done.. only because i'm always changing the way i put eyeliner.. and plus.. i dont think i can stand that much pain LOL.. but we'll see maybe later down the road :)

My cousin had eyeliner tattooed on and she said it hurt really bad! I don't think that I need eyeliner bad enough to go through the pain and I think that I'll keep the eyebrows that I have!!!!!!

Didn't really burn my skin or anything. Well since then, my eyebrows have been so skimpy, with just a few hairs popping in. I would love to have my eyebrows tattooed on, but know nothing about it, so here are some questions.........

1. Is it very painful for the eyebrows to be tattooed on?
2. How long does it take?
3. How bad will it look at 60, 70 or 80 years old?
4. Who do you go to...a tattoo artist or a make-up artist?
5. How do you go about finding someone competent to do it?

I am really interested in this because I too, have to draw them on or fill them in a little bit. In the summer, well anytime really, I sweat and then they end up being wiped off. I do have eyebrows, just very thin and far apart.

My mom had permanent eyeliner, permanent lipliner, and permanent eyebrows tatoo'd on. She said the eyeliner hurt soooo bad, but the eyebrows and lipliner did not hurt too bad and she continues to get the eyebrows touched up. She has not done the lipliner again but she has done the eyeliner a time or two more. But the eyeliner hurts so bad that she says she probably won't do it again.

It takes a couple of hours to get eyebrows tatoo'd on.

It doesn't really look bad as you age bc it fades and you have to get it touched up if you want to continue having it.

The lady who did my mom's permanent makeup also does electrolysis. My mom, me, and my 2 sisters have gone to her for electrolysis (permanent hair removal) for YEARS! I know my sisters and me have been going to her for 10 years for permanent hair removal (we all have our entire faces hair-free and our eyebrows are shaped and we got the hair on our fingers and toes removed) and I know my mom has been going to her for longer than that. So my mom knows she is compitent and knew she would do a good job with the permanent makeup before she got it done.

I have very few hairs as well, so i really needed this. I got tired of drawin my eyebrows and them being uneven.

1. if you've gotten a tattoo, it's exactly what that feels like... if not.. im not going to lie, there is pain involved, but it's not that bad... before you get it done, they put this numbing cream on it, so it's less painful.

2. my eyebrows only took 1 1/2 hours. my cousin who was getting a touch up just took 30 mins.

3. i think it fades with the skin, or i don't know if i make sense, but it blends with it well i guess as you age. my co worker is in her 60's and it still looks nice.. she had them done 12 years prior.

4. you can go to an esthetician to get it done.

5. i think you have to do research on the person, ask to see their work.. stuff like that.. i was lucky that my cousins mom in law is a perfectionist and shes really awesome and has been doing this for so many years. i trusted her and i loved my results.

I never really thought about this, I'll have to tell my roommate about it, she naturally doesn't have eyebrows and she hates having to take the time to draw them on every morning.

I've got too much eyebrows, their pretty thick and thanks the my family's sometimes horrific genes I've got a bit of a unibrow that I've routinely gotta pluck...

How does electrolysis work? Does it last for a while then it grows back? If so, how long does it take to grow back? And how much does it cost?

Girls I do learn something new everyday.. I have never heard of having tatoos for face.. I have eyebrows , I will continue to put my lipliner and eyeliner on a daily basis.. No thank you to pain.....lol

I don't think I would get permanent makeup just because I change how I do my makeup so much! I knew a girl in college who had permanent eyeliner and I was always jealous that her eyeliner was always perfect at the end of the day... until she told me why.
I have thought of electrolysis but I'm scared of the pain. I had a friend in high school who got her WHOLE STOMACH done. Every spot turned red though and she looked like a plucked chicken for awhile until the redness went away. I think I'll stick with plucking and waxing! Besides, I have a little plucking obsession, so what would happen if I couldn't pluck anymore?? :confused:

Electrolysis is the only proven form of PERMANENT hair removal. I had the most horrific eyebrows, very wild and thick, but thanks to electrolysis, they are now perfect and they are permanent....they don't grow back. Different electrolysises charge different rates. Some charge by the minute (like $3 per minute) and some charge per every 15 minutes and can be as much as $45 for 15 minutes. It just depends on the person and how they run their business. And it depends on how bad your eyebrows are as to how long it will take to remove all the hair that is necessary. Since you have been plucking your eyebrows, the hair may grow back once or twice max, but it will get thinner and thinner and eventually it won't grow back at all. I would look in the yellowpages or look on www.whitepages.com and just look under "Electrolysis" to see who in your area does this. The difference bt electrolysis and laser is that you can only do electrolysis on small areas....your face, toes, fingers, bikini area, underarms....you could not get it done in your legs or arms as you have to do one hair at a time and it would just not be feasible. That is where laser comes in....laser can do large areas, but it is not proven to be a permanent form of hair removal.

If you have anymore questions about electrolysis, just ask! I would highly recommend it to anyone. By the time you pay to wax for many years, you could have paid for electrolysis to be done and it is permanent.

Electrolysis really doesn't hurt. If you are very sensitive to pain, you can get this over-the-counter cream that you can put on beforehand and it numbs the area and you can't feel it at all. My mom plucked her eyebrows when she was young and she REALLY REALLY messed them up badly. That is why she has to get them tatoo'd in now. She has 3 daughters and she did not want that to happen to any of us, so she started taking us to electrolysis when we were young so we would never have to pluck and potentially really mess up our eyebrows. I also have my entire face done....I have no mustache or sideburns or any other "peach fuzz" on my face.

And if you put some ice on the area right after it is done, it won't turn red.

I had a friend that tattooed her eyeliner on. The people that usually tattoo eyeliner on are the people with red hair that have very pale lashes (like you can't see them). The eyeliner helps them stand out. Without eyeliner on they look like they don't have lashes at all, so they get them tattooed so you can see their lashes.

haha, I'm a strawberry blonde so if I don't put on mascara and eyeliner it looks like I don't have any. But I think I would rather go through the hassle of putting it on than tattooing it, it really doesn't take too long now that I'm good at it.
