View Full Version : Just a little irritated!

This really isn't a big VENT, but I am a little irritated. My son is the manager of the Varisty and Jr. Varsity basketball teams. They printed out the practice schedule and passed it out to all the players and mangers (there are two managers).
Very seldom is it what the schedule says it is. This evening it was suppose to be from 5:30 till 6:30. Son comes out to the bus and tells me it's from 4:30 till ?. He'll call me when it's time to come get him. You can't plan anything very well, especially supper. I don't want to leave with something cooking and I sure don't want to turn it off in the middle of cooking to go get him.
I hate to do this, but I think I'm going to have to talk to the coach and tell him either stick to the schedule or make a new one. Not only do I think it is irritating, but it's pretty darn inconsiderate too!
Okay....I feel better now...:)

Glad we could be here for you!! Vent all you want, big one, or a little one, no matter to us. :p
It is frustrating when they don't go by the schedule. So many times, parents are waiting well past a pickup time for their children because some coach or director thinks they need more time. It's very inconsiderate. I've seen a band director hold 200+ band students on several busses ready to make a 3 hour ride home just because he wanted to brown-nose a little longer with some officials. Parents were back home not knowing that their children would be an hour late and why.

We had the same problem when my daughter was in volleyball. They never got out on time. I was sure glad when she got her farmer's permit and could drive to school then I didn't have to worry about what time she got out.
Some people don't have any consideration for other people's time. Doctor's offices are really bad about not getting you in at the time of your appointment.

My son will get his driver's license in January. That will really help.
As for the Drs. office. NO WAY!!! I have a wonderful Dr. but I'm not sitting in his office with a bunch of sick people. I call 30 minutes before I'm suppose to be there and ask how long a wait there is. Then I run a few errands before I show up. Longest I've had to wait since I started doing this has been no more than 10 minutes.

Janet, that completely SUX! Sorry I don't have any advice. Some people are just so inconsiderate and really think the world revolves around them. Actually, there are alot of people like that. If you do decide to talk to the coach, let us know how it turns out! However, would you think it would be even worth talking to the coach since your son doesn't have too much longer (a month) before he can drive himself? Would talking to the coach make the coach look down upon your son in anyway? I would hate for things to go sour between you and your son because of some stupid coach.
just suck it out till January!! Its around the corner!

I can stick it out....we only have 5 1/2 more days until Christmas break. I shouldn't have even vented at all. It's just that I hate it when people are inconsiderate of others. I mean...how hard is it?
Kind of the same way I feel about dumb and stupidity. I don't mind dumb...it can't be helped in most cases...but stupidity drives me up a freakin wall!

Janet, I feel the EXACT same way!!!!!!! If your son wasn't getting his drivers license soon, then I think you should definately say something! It's just rude for them to change up the schedule like that! And one of my all-time pet peeves is just plain stupidity.

Diana....what's a farmers permit?
A farmer's permit is a driver's license that farm kids can get when they're 14 years old. It allows them to go and get things from stores that are farm related. Like parts for the tractor or combine. It also allows them to drive to and from school, the most direct way, so they can come home and work. If they drive anywhere else they are to have an adult with them.
In Kansas kids can get their learner's permit when they're 14 and they have to drive with an adult. When they're 15 they can drive to and from school. Having a farmer's permit allows her to drive to school a little sooner than most kids.
