Today Miss America is in the news AGAIN - They want to take her title -
I say take it - I'm not a fan of Beauty Pagents and don't watch them at all - I think I saw one as a kid - but this one is running around partying and young girls aspire to be her -
what is your vote for the current miss America - should they take away her title ???
2 options - yes or no
I vote YES

I personally feel there should be no beauty pagents. Even more so for these tiny little girls looking like women. I voted....take the crown!

I think they should take her crown. Her behavior is inappropriate for someone who is supposed to be a role model for young girls and teens.
I am not against beauty pageants, though. I was in beauty pageants when I was growing up and I feel that they really helped build my confidence and resulted in me having excellent interviewing skills. Pageants are also a great source for educational scholarships.

I HATE the pagents. I think they are a big waste of money and down right stupid. I can't believe they didn't take it away from her. The last person to have her title taken away missed a few photo shoots and some charity functions.
Something doesn't sound right to be honest. My husband says that Trump is "doing" her and doesn't want to get busted. Beside what kind of role model is she and what message is she sending...
Kids it is ok do do drugs and drink if you are underage and NOT get punished!

Did you ever win any?

I say take it. I'm not a fan of beauty pageants even though my younger sister was one of the youngest Miss West Central Georgia's in that pageant's history.
She laughs about it now. She won a $100.00 Miss Clairol scholarship:p
She has 2 daughters and said they'd only be in them if they wanted to participate.
I work with a lady whose college age daughter was just in a pageant and didn't win, but this lady spent a FORTUNE outfitting her for it and that's all we heard about at work for 2 months beforehand.

I believe she should have...to me...she did not seem as remorseful and she wanted people to think she was...I felt her crying was put on...she is a 21 year old girl that wants to have a good time and that's ok but, she should have re-thought what her "duties" were going to be before she went for this title...In my opinion.....she is going to screw up again and lose her title...I feel it's only a matter of time.

you know, on the news they showed her prancing around in a bikini and she is rather thin... They showed this clip around ten times in one morning!!!! over and over again... Obvoisly a man behind that descion!!! My daughter is very thin and does not eat well... the last thing these young girls need its a roll model without an ounce of fat on them!!!! What kind of message is it sending?

She is Miss USA and she does not deserve to be a role model for the women of today ...
But Trump likes the pretty ones, so he's giving her a break and sending her off to Trump Tramp ReHab ... who says 'pretty don't count"? It sure does!

you're so right Yorkie Lover - giving her rehab is setting a terrible example
It's just plain politics - there are others who worked just as hard as she did probable deserve to take her place
she needs to lose the crown and oh - maybe get BUSTED for drug use like the rest of the AVERAGE world would
funny how looks get you everywhere ....if she were a regular woman - she'd probably be facing jail time for drug possession or something - look what happened to Vanessa Williams.....all she did was pose for pictures and lost her crown - she didn't break the LAW like this one did

so true ... and she did that BEFORE she won the pageant ... and not many Miss Americas are remembered as well as she is ....
this was done during her reign and after she knew the rules .... Tara needs to lose her tiara!!!

I Agree - I'm for 2nd chances too - if this one had done drugs in her past - then I can understand them saying ok - you can keep the title - but she's doing it NOW and that's just wrong -
IF she can do drugs then Vanessa needs her title back - I always thought she was awesome - looks and a voice that knocks your socks off - I'm really glad she came out on top because she was treated very unfairly. All her indescretions too place BEFORE she won - and really - posing for pictures ??? (which were not that bad even) should never have caused her to lose her title.
So I get it now - do drugs - say sorry and all is forgiven
no wonder girls are freaking WILD now - there's no consequences anymore for anything - same with Sports - Guys test positive for illegal substances and can't play a few games
the average american tests positive - they go to JAIL

Excellent points V!!!!!
Our kids think we are mean. No pageants are watched in this house. Our daughter ran for princess in our local fall festival, but she sold raffle tickets to win. The kid who sold the most tickets won. It wasn't a beauty pageant or anything like that. But we also told her only that one time we would let her and that was the end of that!

she should loose it, she cant be the model of the world for little girls to look at even if she did do that or not, it just sounds bad

V.. I totally agree... There is no consequences to be paid today so these girls do as they dam well please. I think Vanessa got a bum deal back in the day. They should do away with these paganets, I feel these girls are just exploited, my daughter was selected to be in one in NJ , I didnt encourage it, and she didn't care.

I also voted she should lose the crown. As many of you have already pointed out, if what she had done had occurred prior to her entering the pagent to begin with, then I'm all for the second chance. But she was bar hopping and so forth AFTER she was crowned. Many, many young girls watch the televised pagents and many more are taken to local pagents to watch. These young girls are very impressionable and dream of being Miss America or Miss USA themselves one day - at the very least, representing their respective states. If they see someone they look up to doing things that we as parents try to teach them as being wrong, they don't understand why SHE can do it and they can't - I mean, if Miss America or Miss USA can do it at her age, then I can certainly do the same thing - WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!
I personally have nothing against the pagent industry. For some young ladies, it is the only way to potentially earn scholarship money. I know the Miss America pagent awards scholarships but don't think Miss USA does (could be wrong!). Like Rebecca, I too competed in a couple of beauty pagents in my younger days. And to the best of my knowledge, I am still the reigning Little Miss Walthall County - 1970!!!! It was the first year they ever held the pagent for the younger girls (I was not quite 7 years old) and it was the last. Now, I'm not sure if they didn't have it anymore because they knew they could not do any better than me or if by my winning I somehow ruined it for the other younger girls to compete the next year :p :D
She's not someone I'd want held up as an example to ANYONE, regardless of whether "The Donald" gets a boner looking at her.

LOL meeeeeeeeeeee too !!!
and that girl is plain ANNOYING - she is now saying she'll be the BEST MISS A we've ever seen - Pluuuuuuuueze ~!!! She should be in rehab still and give the next runner up a chance - Trump made a BAD CALL. Less than 30 days in rehab for drugs when people are rotting in prison for less ?

why do we insist on "idolizing" people after they have proved themselves to be less than worthy??
