View Full Version : Not Fair
Earlier I went to see my great niece who is in the 1st grade in a holiday play, at the end they sang a different version of We wish you a Merry Christmas, they sang we wish you a Happy Holiday to that music. I am sorry but this has come to far, I am tired of everyone trying to be politically correct. Does everyone feel this way, what are the schools doing? Everyone should stand firmly on their beliefs.

I agree that the words to the song should not have been changed. I really think that we are getting to the point in this country that we are losing our right to free speech. Our founding fathers never intended this to go so far. If they were here now, they would be shocked and apalled at what is happening to our nation. My beliefs on Christmas and the celebration of Christ's birth may differ from some of you, as has been discussed in other threads, but I still wish people Merry Christmas and do not understand all the commotion over it. When we wish people Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings or whatever, we are letting them know that we care and are wishing them well. No one should take offense at the good intentions that others are attempting to express.
Whatever you say these days, someone is going to be offended. We should not be concerned with being politically correct. We need to keep in mind Why we are here in the first place, and Who we really need to please in this life He has given us.

To me that is just plain wrong! If they can't do it the reight way they have no business getting the kids to sing it at all!!! I think this is one reason why it doesn't seem like christmas here anymore.

You know, I get so disappointed in all the changes to be "politically correct." This world is just too sad to live in anymore. It wouldn't upset me one bit for it all to end today. Whenever the time comes, I'm ready.
