After Christmas sales

What great sales have you found?
I haven't been out much because I've been working all week, but I did manage to get an 8 foot tall inflatable penguin for my lawn next holiday season for only $10; large holiday tins filled with mixed nuts for $1.50 each, and chocolate covered raisins for half price.

That's wonderful that you found some bargains!! I haven't been out to shop yet! All the good deals will probably be gone. We only have a Super Wal Mart, all the other stores are in Lafayette (a city 25 min. away). My son still has basketball practice right in the middle of the freak'n day, everyday...so it kind of screws things up a bit for shopping or anything else for that matter.:)

My DIL, 3 daughters, and I are all headed to Wichita today to shop a little bit. Then as part of their Christmas present we're going to eat at a Japanese steakhouse and go to a movie. I'm hoping that we'll have a good time. My DIL likes to make little nasty comments sometimes and one of my daughters was in a really bad mood this morning so I'm keeping my fingers crossed all day that everything goes well.

I'll let you know if I find any good bargains!!

Hubby and I went to the city today and saw a lot of great sales yet. There wasn't much we really needed, so we pretty much stuck to our shopping list. I did see some cute coats and a few tops at Walmart, but nothing that I couldn't live without. I did get a nice stainless steel collander to replace my ratty plastic ones, a cute kitchen clock with a rooster on to match my theme, and picked up a few groceries, but the highlight of the day was eating at Applebees. :cool: They have SUCH yummy food!

I got some pants at Dillards that were 60% off, and some tops at Kohl's that were marked way down. Really needed a few new items to spiff up my work wordrobe, and these items will all work really well. Got Christmas cards for next year 1/2 price. That's about it. Got quite a bit of stuff for under $150. So I'm pleased with the sales.

I didn't find too many bargains when we went shopping. I bought some glass Christmas ornaments (I love ornaments!!!). At Dillard's I bought a really cute Christmas shirt that was half price. Since we still have a couple of parties to go I thought that I could still get some use out of it this season. My DIL got a really cute set of dishes at Target, but it was only a setting for 4. She was happy with it, but they have 5 in their family so I looked on-line, but they were sold out. Maybe next year I can find them on e-Bay.

We ate at the Japanese Steak House, Kobe's, and it was wonderful. We had a good time together, but we didn't make it to the movies. I wasn't thinking about getting home so late and 2 of the girls had to go to work the next morning.

Most are out of stock around here. I'm so tight when it comes to money, it would have to be something I really needed AND on sale before I would buy it. You're making us feel bad. Wish we could go shopping together!! I have a feeling, the sales will be going for a while. I didn't make it out the first couple of days after Christmas because hubby was/is sick, but when I did go out, there weren't very many shoppers, not nearly what I expected.

Now I don't want you all to feel bad!!! It's great to find bargains. I'm not much of a shopper anyways. Sometimes....I get this feeling to go looking, but not very often.
