I had to go to the Vet today to pick up some Revolution for the Yorkies and Frontline (to have on hand in late March) for Penny and there was a 8 month old Miniature Pinscher (sp). At first I thought it was a tiny chihuahua and my heart started going pitter patter. Her name was Jersey and she was sooooo cute. I would talk to her and she would just cock her head from side to side like she was trying to understand me. I would love to have one of them too!!! If I had every dog I wanted...there would be no room in our house for us. :p

It sounds like she was a cutie. My heart melts whenever I see a puppy. It doesn't matter what kind they are, I love them all!!!
Awwwwww I am the same way about puppies. (You might have guessed since I now have 2 of them destroying my house!)
I had to promise hubby today that I won't be bringing home anymore dogs though. Moses refuses to be housetrained. He will squat and do his thing right in front of us when he's just been outside and doesn't seem to understand that it's a BAD thing! He will walk across the living room from person to person and pee enroute! Thank God we were planning to replace the living room carpet anyway, 'cause now it's necessary.
After much soul searching and discussion, we went and bought a nice dog house and cable so that Moses will be staked out when there's no one able to be in here with him. :( If we put him in his crate he pees and poops in it and LAYS in it. He then shakes so it flies all over. It's just too gross to live with INdoors. I hate the idea of putting him out, but our house is beginning to smell like a kennel and that's not acceptable either. He also jumps up and removes anything he can reach from dresser tops, counters, etc. He is literally destroying the house!
The new pup (Scooby) seems to be more willing to learn things, so I am going to give him a bit more time to stop messing indoors. He's already learned to sit, lay down, and drop an item from his mouth on command. Moses won't do any of these theings reliably yet and has had over 2 months versus Scoobies one week to work on it. My son says Moses is retarded... I'm not sure what to think, but he sure isn't the wise dog that I've always been told Poodles should be. :( I love him, but I can't expect my family to live in this stench indefinitely.

I have a friend who has had two miniture pinchers at two different times. They were wonderful dogs, but were both runners. They slipped out of the front door so easily that they could not keep them in. One of them was run over right in front of their home when his wife opened the front door. Happened in a flash right in front of her. He will never have another min-pin because of this.
Our neighbor across the road has a min pin. They never EVER let the dog out without a leash on. They said if they did they'd likely never see him again. They're cute puppies, but not a dog I'd really want to have.

I think they are so darling, but I sure don't want a "runner" on my hands. I still would love to have a tiny chihuahua though. I just can't seem to get it out of my system. I am trying to wait until after our next litter...probably in March, in case I want to keep one of them. I must be nuts...LOL
