Went to see my mother-in-law and it's getting really close to the end now. While I was there this evening, they had to clean the fluid from her throat. When doing this, the nurse said that it also makes her fill up with fluids a little faster. They've only done it twice today. Her legs are starting to marble and her arms and legs are cold. The nurse said she has lost most of the circulation except that closest to her heart. Everything is shutting down. I brought my son back home, (he wanted to be with her a few more minutes) he had some homework to do. My husband came home long enough to shower and he will stay with her until she is gone. Both the Dr. and the Hospice nurse don't think she'll make it till morning.

My husband is taking this extremely hard. He lost his mother when he was 9 or 10 years old just down the road from their house in the country from a car/train accident. His step-mother has been his mother most of his life, so he is having a hard time. He has been a very good son to her and his dad. He visited his step-mon every Tuesday and Friday in the nursing home. It was never an inconvenience to him.

I am so emotionally drained right now...so I'm going to try and get some rest. I imagine I'm going to need all I can muster to get through the next few days.

Thank you all for all your prayers. I really don't know what I would do without you all, I feel like we've all become a family here at 4WT.

Oh Janet. I'm so sorry that I can't be there to give you a hug. You and your family have been in my prayers for the last several days and will continue to be during all of this. I'll be sure to especially remember your husband and all that he's going through as well. Even when we know the end is coming we are never prepared for it. It's just too hard to say good-bye to our loved ones. Please keep us posted on what's going on and please pm me your address. I would really appreciate it.

I'm sorry Janet. It's so great to hear that your husband has been such a great son to her - seems like that's a rarity anymore. You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.
