I was just watching tv and a certain commercial caught my eye. It's for a sound amplifier that you wear and it amplifies sounds around you. Sounds simple and alot like your typical hearing aid. Well part of the advertisement was that you would "be able to listen into conversations from up to 100 ft away!!"
Even their website says this: "Hear a conversation from up to 100 ft away!! Ever wonder what people are talking about across the room? With Listen Up, you can discreetly listen in. It's so powerful, you can hear even the softest whispers loud and clear."
So if you're stalking someone or really wanna know what your neighbors think about you, get this!!

That's kind of creepy! It's pretty funny that they advertise it that way though. Maybe I should purchase one and take up stalking as a new carreer :p kidding

IMO...this sounds like an invasion of privacy...I wouldn't want to own one of those...what is the actual purpose of them?

That's ridiculous. I can see if you can't get a loved one to buy a hearing aid, this may be a useful device to keep the TV volume down, but to listen in to conversations descretely. Not nice.
I don't really think the thing will work well though. If it amplifies all sound, the background noise would probably drown out any conversation 100ft away.

I'd imagine so. I couldn't believe I heard that when they said it, but wow.

I saw that advertised a while back and thought was a horrible thing to have. But then again, I had to think about it some more. I think I would probably won't one if I was to board a plane and saw someone suspisious and I may want one if I was walking alone in a parking lot to my car. There are definitely special circumstances where I think it might be valuable, but for the ones that would use it for the wrong reasons.....could be dissasterous.

LOL!! ~ I think this device sounds kinda funny. But as mentioned above, it seems it would also pick up the background noises and drive the listener insane.
Honestly I have never been much interested in eavesdropping but then again have said a few times, "wish I could be a fly on the wall to hear what's said".
Ok, if I ever have one of these devices to give me "super powers" then I want xray vision glasses and a flying cape to go along with it!! Can you all say "SUPERMAN". :D

I love eavesdropping...I know, that's not something to be proud of...so I wouldn't mind having this, then I could stop straining to listen into conversations :p
