Not sure if any of you have noticed this or not. Either way, it FREAKS me out. I feel like I am being "watched" or "monitored" LOL!!

When I click on different sections of this forurm...For instance. I read the "wine"topic. Once pulled up, the sponsored ads on top of the forum are ads about wine, etc.

Or...This morning I was reading the topic on "Weight Watchers". Sure enough there are ads about losing weight, different weight loss programs, etc.

I can't recall what topic also I was into but on top there are ads about troubled teens etc.

This continues to happen and I swear I think to myself. "How do they know this? How do they know what topic I am reading for them to throw their ads up there?"

All I gotta say is FREAKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've noticed the same thing. The ads must be triggered from some key words in the post.

I never thought of it as spooky until you pointed it out. Now I feel like Big Brother is watching.

We all must realize the if we post it online, it's not secret or private any more.

It's a form of spider marketing. It responds to certain Key words by popping up related ads in an attempt to sell us goods.

It's a software for advertisers and helps keep our site free. I've seen similar on sites I worked at.

If you go to "Quick Links" and then click on "Who's Online," one of the "people" online is the Google AdSense or Google Spider. I am sure that is a program that scans these posts and then posts ads relating to key words in our posts.

Well done Rebecca!
Most don't even notice it...
It really is harmless, but it's a moneymaker for sites such as ours.

I've noticed it before too, but didn't think anything about it. I figured it had to be from the posts or something. I don't get that freaked out about things anymore...but always a little cautious.:)
