If it wasn't bad enough that we've had rain since Friday morning, now we have the ice moving in on us. I sure hope the roads are not bad in the morning. I've got to get the kids to school, unless it's cancelled and then take my son to the Orthodontist 40 minutes away. I don't like driving my van on icy roads, but the bus doesn't bother me near as bad. It's a lot heavier of course and even more so when it's loaded. Hope we don't get it as bad as what I've been seeing on the news in other areas.

Hope you got off on your route safely today. We have so many limbs down right now. Just a dusting of snow but lots of ice on the trees and grass. It looks pretty but it's scary. It's not safe to drive down the road for fear a limb will come crashing down on you. But remember the ice storm in 91. Our lights went out Sunday night for 4 hours but thankfully came back on before daylight. It's a mess up here but that's winter you never know what your going to get. Don't listen to the weather man he's never right. lol. Well I'm off to work. Everyone have a great day.

You are getting the ice storm that was covering us all weekend. Sorry...;) We here at home got lucky, it's like we were in a safety pocket or ???, but others not as lucky.
Ice storms are incredible. So beautiful but very damaging.
Stay safe!!

All the other schools in our county had a two hour delay this morning except for ours...  It was so slick, even on the gravel roads. We got there though just fine, just a few minutes late. The school doesn't care how late we are just as long as we make it. I wasn't happy with their decision....I wanted to get on the radio and thank everyone in charge for thinking of our safety, like the other schools in the county, LOL but if I had done something like that, I would probably be hunting for another job. Good thing I have self control!!! :D

We got 4-5 inches of freezing rain over the weekend and it's not melting because of the really cold weather. The kids were out of school Monday because of Martin Luther King Jr. day and they were out today because the roads are still snow packed and I just heard that they don't have school tomorrow either.
Our neighborhood (family) has been sledding down our driveway for the last couple of days. Yesterday when I came home I had a sledder coming my way, but at the minute she rolled off of the sled. It was my son's MIL!!! I couldn't believe that she was sledding down the hill and she was having a blast! Today the kids also had their ice skates on and have been sledding all over the place. The freezing rain is really solid to do things on and the kids are taking full advantage of it. I just wish that I hadn't offered to work so I could be home with them!!!
Diana and Janet be careful out there with the ice, here in NJ the weather has started to get cold. We have been lucky up to this point. Very unusual weather we were having, but I liked it.. Anyway winter has arrived, you girls stay safe..

Everyone, be careful out there. All of us dealing with this winter storm have our own safety issues depending on where we are. At least if you are reading this, you have power and are probably warm.
Janet, be careful in the big school bus. Just driving it would be scary, but on ice...... wow!!
You are braver than I am, that's for sure!!!!
