Wow!
What does everyone think about this?

I think this is wrong on so many levels. I don't think this should ever be acted out using a child. Of course I know she doens't see it that was. Afterall she is a child and she is making money off of this. I am sure she doesn't see it any other way.I know I would not have let my child play this role. I am really shocked that her parents were ok with this.

Well, like the article says, it's not like she was acting out the rape. Dakota Fanning is so mature for her age and if any 12 year old could handle a movie role like this one, it would be her. My concern is not for Dakota Fanning and how she will handle the role emtionally, but my concern is the child predators who go watch the movie who are getting off watching a 12 year old girl getting raped. That is the sick part.

It's a real issue that happens many times a day in this world. Anything that sheds light upon and informs the masses about an issue like that is okay by me. It's not like she's actually getting raped or 16 and has a sex scene like Kiera Knightley did.

You are 100% correct Rebecca. It's just plain sick and should not be shown to the public. Too many sickos getting off just watching it!

This is what I though of as well.

The Kiera Knightley incident should not have occurred either.

The issue of child rape can be addressed in a film and light can be shed on it without acting it out. I have not seen the film, so cannot say that what was done was in poor taste, but on the surface I would be on concerned about the child predator issue.
