When I first started to post this, I thought maybe it should go in the Vent forum, but I'm not really venting....it's just to darn funny to be angry.
It all started Monday..my glasses were bent a little so I went to my Dr. to have them straightened.
Tuesday afternoon when I arrived to take the kids home. Sitting at the elementary, the frame on my glasses broke. I had to go into the office to have them taped, because I can't see to drive without them. Got them taped (a real nice look I might add) and was on my way.
After I got home I ran to town to get them fixed. They had to send them off for repair. Good thing I had a spare frame to use. Said they'd be in Thursday.
Thursday I picked them up and then this morning when I was cleaning them, the nose piece fell off. So after taking the kids to school, I get in my van to go back to town to the Dr. to have that fixed. As I'm pulling out the driveway, I notice something doesn't feel right. I look and my right rear tire is flat.
Thank goodness my son didn't drive to school, so I used his car. They couldn't believe my string of luck this week with my glasses and then the tire thing was the cherry on top....LOLOL

I can remember a couple of days that went like that. Things just kept getting worse and worse until all we (my husband and I) could do was laugh about everything that was going wrong. Here's a very brief version of those 2 days--
After borrowing our van and having nothing but trouble with it, the van finally caught on fire and stranded my daughter and her husband in Wichita. The taxi to take them to the motel took a really long time to get there. They didn't have a credit card to rent a motel, the restaurants closed before they could "walk" there. The next day the second van had the transmission going out before we got home and I left my purse in Wichita (100 miles away). I'm sure that there were other things too, but it's been a while and I've forgotten. BTW, my daughter was pregnant too.
Just figure, Janet, that this next week is going to be much better!!

Okay, if we are going to share. Our 60" Sony rear projection LCD TV went out, it's one month out of warranty. They have to change a light bulb inside. Cost: $500.00
My hubby's SUV started driving rough. Thought it was transmission, got that serviced, didn't help. Took it to mechanic, spent $250 or so, didn't fix it. Took to dealer, replaced a bunch of electronic stuff. Cost: $800.00
Melissa's Sony VAIO laptop is having monitor problems. It's about 1 month out of warranty, too. We were going to send it off for repair, but it's working okay now, so we are putting it off. Repair estimate according to Sony: $168 if no parts are required. $750 to replace monitor if it is required.
Got a call from Melissa, in addition to the $200 in fees for her scuba class, she needs $500 for equipment that she did not anticipate when she signed up for the course. We've worked it out, and I think she's happy with the arrangement.
All of this happened within a 2 week span. Oh, and we got our American Express bills with our Christmas expenses.
Ain't life grand?????

Holy boogers, Marilyn!!! At least mine wasn't expensive!! Maybe that's why I didn't get too upset about it all.....LOL It just seems when we get a little ahead...things start breaking down. We are due for a small inheritance from my mother-in-law...so it's just a matter of time before the appliances start to fail...:D You know....the big ticket items.
