Sunday was my 50th birthday and my husband turned 50 in December so our kids decided to give us both a birthday party. I was really dreading turning 50 but we had so much fun at our party and the kids did such a good job at putting it together.
We knew the date and the time, but no one would tell us where it was at. My youngest daughter, Jaci, drove us to the party (we got to view a lot of the town on the way!). We ended up at the Senior Citizen's Center, where there was a sign welcoming us (I think that it was part of the fun). They had black tablecloths with bowls of PRUNES in the center!! I thought that was so funny! (I hate prunes, but my Mom was thrilled to have them!) They had bought a couple of cakes and made a couple more. They made some sugar free desserts and cream cheese mints. We had lots and lots of food!
I had three aunts that came, one drove 8 hours to get here for my party. I was so surprised to see them. They all live quite a ways away so I wasn't expecting them. We had a lot of friends and family that came. We guessed that there were about 50 people in all.
A couple of my daughters made a dvd with pictures of my husband and I and they played it during the party. It was really nice and I wish that all of you could see it. We both got a lot of really funny cards spent a lot of time laughing over them. I was really dreading turning 50 but it ended up that we had a lot of fun and it really wasn't so bad.
Here's some pictures of our party.
1. My husband and I
2. My granddaughter, Kera, and I (We share our birthday!)
3. My husband, kids, and I (second from right is a daughter-in-law)
4. Everyone with the grandkids (one granddaughter and son-in-law is missing)
