Gosh! This isn't going to sound as bad as I feel, and I probably shouldn't feel so bad but...

My bf has crazy shifts usually 4 days on and 4 off, 2 days and 2 nights. Well, as most of you know i just moved here and I'm still getting settled in to this new schedule, being home alone, not having family or friends. So he did his 4 on, and then was supposed to have 4 off. Well, he cross shifted with a buddy (got valentines day off) so he only had 2 days off. So tonight was supposed to be the end of his shift he took for his buddy, but then someone else needed him to work for them, so tonight he's doing a 24hr shift. AND another one of his buddies needed him to take a shift for him on Thursday, so now he's working Thursday too. UGH! It just seems like he's working SO much.

And I've just been so stressed these past few weeks. SOO stressed. I just feel so tense and bad cause I"m not working and blah blah blah...and I don't have anyone to hang out with, and I'm kinda shy so it's hard to just 'get out and make friends'. Gosh...I love my bf, and I'm so happy I moved. I love it here. It's so beautiful. Just kinda lonely...and I'm tired of feeling this way.

I lost five pounds:thumbup: . Whooo hoo! Thats something to be happy about.

Oh yeah, and my dog is just...omg I can't even get into the stress that he is causing me.

Sorry so long. Thanks for listening.

AND since all the shops are different here, I don't know where to go for things. Gosh. I WISH there was a Target here. OMG, I lives 5 mins away from one in NC. They don't have them here.
It's so hard, adjusting to all these new things. I just need a few things but have no clue where to go for them. Like...where's a Sally's Beauty Supply when you need one. Not in Canada.

OOOH, thanks. I'm done.

Haveing spent most of my life moveing with my hubbys job and no internet in those days you have to push yourself to go out and make friends. Go to the library, coffee shops anywhere and start chatting to people you will be suprized that there are many people out there that are in the same boat. But if that fails you have every one here on 4wt. Good luck. xx

Hannah, you need time girl. Go into town, and just walk around to find different shops, before you know it, you'll be used to it. While you there, go sit down somewhere to have something to drink.
Is there a doggie park somewhere around there where you can take your fur kid to for a play, that's one way of meeting people, i find people walking dogs are talkative.
I have moved around a LOT with my husband, due to his job, like Highlans, in those days there was no internet. The library, and coffee shops is a good idea

Sorry you're feeling lonely and lost Hannah. All the others have offered good advice. Are you planning on working? Why not find something part-time at least just to get out and meet people.

I did tell my niece once (she is very shy) to look around at all the people around her. Some of them are very lonely too. So I told her to go up to someone that may be feeling like she does and start a conversation. After a couple of weeks, she did that and now has a new best friend. It's hard sometimes, but well worth it.

I do that sometimes when I go out for lunch by myself. If I see an elderly person sitting, eating alone, I ask if they would like to join. My pretense is that I don't like to eat alone. It's really nice to help someone, plus I learn so much.

Keep your chin up Hannah and realize that in time things will smooth out some.

Maybe you can find a place locally to do some volunteer work? Or...bury yourself into hobbies new and old?? Or....write down in a notebook some goals you'd like to achieve and go after some of them??

I am sure as time goes on you will find yourself meeting new people and getting to know your surroundings.
