My Poor Emilee..

Emilee's first due date is next Thursday. She is huge. Yesterday she was laying in the recliner and when I came into the room she rolled over wanting her belly rubbed. She loves this especially when she is pregnant. I went over to her and she rolled over a little more and I could see the puppies moving like crazy. Just from the movement, it looks like there could be at least three. I'll know better on Tuesday when I take her in for x-rays.

She had such an easy whelping her last litter with 5 girls, so I hope this one is non-eventful too. I am just so excited I can't hardly stand it. I will post how many are seen in the x-rays as soon as we get back from the Vet on Tues.

I would love to have puppies. Everytime that someone talks about their dogs being pregnant or having little newborn puppies it makes me want to go and get another dog to go with Reuger. I'm so jealous. I wish that I lived close enough to drop in and see them!! You're so lucky, Janet!! You'll have to post lots of pictures for us!

How fun and exciting for you Janet!
I remember well how exciting it was to be approaching whelping day. I bred German Shepherds, so they had much larger litters. Even so, most often it was uneventful and ended well.

I hope she has a nice healthy litter and a safe and easy delivery.

Yes, it is such an exciting time!!!! A family (children ride my bus) just had a litter of 10 German Shepards. 5 girls, 5 boys. I would love to have a GS, but now is not the time.
