It's feeling like spring outside today and I've got to be there. It's way to pretty to be inside online all day. (I think I'm pretty much caught up on the new posts though) :p

It's time to saddle Wildflower up and see what adventures we can find today.

I hope it's warmer where you are all at too and find the time to enjoy a part of it. :)

I envy you. I'd love to be riding right now. But no horse. :( When I worked at camp (in 2003) I rode EVERY morning. It was amazing and I miss it.

Hope you enjoy the beautiful weather!

You can stop envying me now! It was a DISASTER of an afternoon and HORRIBLY scary!!

Wildflower seemed overly antsy and not herself while tacking her up. (This was the easy part of the day)

Going to mount and once atop her she wouldn't take the bit. She'd put her head between her front legs and toss her head. I was thinking "bit not right, I know her teeth are bothing her and Wednesday she see's the dentist. Let's make sure everything is on and fitting her ok". So I dis-mount and do a check over everything and it seems fine. We then, mount again.

Just as before Wildflower acts up again and she's acting insane. I AGAIN dismount, talk to her and tell her a few choice words of the english language that all I can say now is "beep, beep, beep".

So, we mount yet AGAIN...and AGAIN she's freaking out. That's it, Im done and had it with this BEEPING horse today.

So, i remove the tack, place on her halter and lead rope and begin walking her to her own pasture. Oh no, she's freaking out. She REARS ON ME, 3 times. I'm yelling at her, trying to take control of the lead rope and she keeps rearing. The closer I get to her pasture the worse she becomes. So I disconnect her lead rope and OFF SHE BUCKS AND RUNS TO THE CATTLE.

She begins chasing the baby calfs, we are talking over 5 acres here and she's running in circles like a kid lost in a candy store. Poor baby calfs and their Mama's are running everywhere.

So...I call my trainer and discuss this crap with her then head to my house for the 4-wheeler to TRY to get her back into the pen. There was no way I could chase her BEEPING BEEP butt down on foot.

Call my friend, he too has a 4-wheeler, ask for his help.

So both of us off, chasing cows and a horse. Wildflower then chases a baby calf and 3 cows into the barbed wire fence to the other pasture. I begin to freak.

FINALLY I get her back to her own pasture (whipped her butt too) and we corral the calfs and their parents back to where they belong.

What the hell ???? That's all I keep asking myself is why did all this happen?? All I wanted was a nice ride in spring like weather.

Needless to say, my horse trainer is baffled and she knows that Wildflower WON by me unhooking her lead from her halter and letting her go. But to my defense there was a safety issue w/ ME involved and I didn't want to get hurt.

So...Once AGAIN (if I ever had it to begin with) need to establish myself as head mare and boss to this BEEPING horse!

I GIVE UP SOME DAYS!!! :(

Wow, it sounds like you had a real beeping day!!!! At least you had good weather for it...:p

It's suppose to get down to 16 degrees tonight but be up in the 50's by the end of the week. I sure hope it starts getting nicer here in Indiana. We still have a bit of snow here and there that I would love to have melt and be gone completely. The last week of this month is our spring break, I can't wait.

Oh my! I wonder what went wrong? I'm sorry things didn't turn out the way you planned. At least you got a little exercise... (trying to be positive, is it working?) :)

AngieDoo ~ Sometimes it feels better to be positive doesn't it? LOL (Way to go!!)

My horse trainer ended up calling me yesterday afternoon to say her equine dentist was at her place. So being I knew Wildflower's teeth were bothering her (thinking this was most of her idiot attitude yesterday) I went ahead and loaded her up and took her there.

She had a lot of teeth pulled, poor girl!! OUCH! I could hardly watch, it was truly grossing me out.

So, she's back home and resting. I'm a little concerned because I haven't seen her outta her stall area all night or yet this am. It's still dark but I will be heading to her shortley after my shower to check on her. Kinda making me nervous.

Oh that's ok Mandy. She is pitiful today, really not feeling well. Nothing like having teeth pulled w/out Novicane. Big haunken teeth to boot.

She's cranky and hurting, can see it in her eye. Plus she's going through her cycle. Typical woman!!!!!!!!!
