My birthdays usually come and go like a normal day. Oh I get a call from my mom and one of my brothers, but that's about it. Just not as fun as they use to be. I did get a card from my bestest friend of over 25 years, but still haven't talked to her since October. I'm hoping she'll call today, it would be the best birthday ever.

As we age yes we find that our expectations don't always get what we desire on our birthdays....So, YOU go make it special!!! :D Get yourself a cupcake and a special drink. Sing to yourself and tell yourself how special and lucky you are.

Thanks everyone. So far my day has been pretty quiet.

My son just brought me a tablet page folded into a card. The outside says 'Happy Birthday Mom.' On the inside it says 'Hope you have a Happy Birthday, love Ricky'. On the other side it says 'Happy Birthday Janet, saving money on card for eats. Love Rick and then in a box it says 'Good for Red Lobster or restaurant of your choice.' Nothing like going out of their way.....:(

Janet, as you might remember, I went out and bought myself a birthday gift, then informed hubby that's what it was and made a point of telling him he'd done very well this time! That was in November when I bought Moses.

Since then he's really gotten into the spirit by giving me great gifts for Christmas and Valentines. I think It finally sunk in that I deserve nice gifts and was going to have them one way or another. LOL Maybe this would work for you too?

Men just don't seem to understnad how not getting something on our Day makes us feel. Sounds like it's time to show him! If I can do it, I bet you can too.

Well, my birthday came and gone without much fanfare. My Mom didn't call, my older brother didn't call. I just said to heck with it all and went to bed around 8:30 PM. I always feel that as soon as I can get to sleep, the sooner a bad day will get over with.:)

I laughed reading Tink's post, on how she bought her own pressie, i swear if my BD gets forgotten, or treated like just another day by my family, i will buy my own. Had visuals of myself walking thru the hallway with a yorkie pup, with a red bow, singing HB to myself LOL
