Hey ladies! Man, I can't believe how long it's been since I've been able to get in here! It's been so long, ya'll have probably forgotten about me...lol!
Things have just been really crazy the past few months at both work and home. A lot has happened and I'm not sure where to begin! The hospital where I work went through a "mock" survey to help prepare for the real survey later this year. We had 2 weeks notice and spent those 2 weeks making sure manuals were up to date and in order, policies were in place for various things, staff was educated, etc. Loooooong days during that 2 week period! Then the survey was 3 days long, and it took place the week before Christmas. We did okay in the survey but learned we had so much to do to get ready for the real thing so it's just been a constant roller coaster ride since after the new year began.
Then on the 17th of this month, my father-in-law passed away after a 6 year battle with leukemia. Although we knew his illness would eventually take him away from us, it was totally unexpected when it did happen! My boys took it really hard as they were especially close to their Paw Paw - they were the only grandkids who lived the closest to him (3 1/2 hours away) and we saw him several times a year. Although we know he is in a much better place, free from pain and suffering, the loss to our family will be felt for quite some time.
And not to leave her out - we have a new addition to our family:) We brought Mae home this past Sunday. She is a 4 1/2 week old black lab and tips the scales at a whopping 1 pound 9 ounces!!! Mom stopped nursing when the puppies were 3 weeks old and finally rejected the litter completely last week. Mae is the runt of the litter and the only surviving female. In order to give her a chance at life, the owner said we could bring her on home. Her brothers, who are twice her size, were nudging her out of the way to eat so she was not eating enough. She has turned into quite the little pig at our house...lol! We are not free feeding her but do see that she gets 3-4 small meals a day. Her little personality is starting to come out and she has found her voice!!! Gabby and Gage are not quite sure if they like her but I'm sure over time, they will warm to her. She is staying inside due to her size and will be there for quite a few more weeks.
Sorry to be so lengthy in my post! I have missed you ladies and look forward to getting back into the "swing" of things here.

So glad to have you back Suzi. I knew you had been missing for quite a while and with very good reason. So sorry to hear of the loss of your father-in-law. We lost my MIL in January. My son only has my mother left as a grandparent, pretty hard to take losing them.
Now you know we are going to have to have pictures of Mae, don't you? Rebecca just got a black Lab not too long ago and he is gorgeous. You'll have to check out the pictures she posted this week.
Anyway hope nothing takes you from us again .....Glad you're back. :bighug:

Awww - thank you for the welcome back! I have sure missed you all! Janet, so sorry about your mil :( My boys still have both their grandmothers. The only grandfather they ever knew was my husband's dad. My dad passed away the year before we married.
And yes, Mae is an absolute cutie!!! She's so very tiny, especially for being a lab but I have a feeling she won't be for very long! I'll try to upload a picture here but not sure if you'll be able to open it and make it bigger. And it's not a very good picture - she just won't be still...lol!! I hope to get more pictures this week-end:)
I'm glad to be back!!

Can't make it bigger, but she looks adorable! If you need help, just let me know. I miss having a black Lab. We can't get another dog for quite awhile. I still have my three Yorkies (4 new puppies) and our Golden Retreiver Penny. I know someday we'll get another black Lab.
Welcome back Suzi, I was thinking about you the other day, I wondered what happened. Glad to have you back..:)

Welcome back!!! You were missed!!! Your puppy looks cute. I can't imagine a lab under 2 lbs. Never know, though. She may grow to be a big girl. Glad to have you back!!

SUZI!! I certainly didn't forget about you!!! I was actually wondering where you went!!..I am so sorry to hear about your father in law...Death is hard no matter how you look at it...even when we know in our hearts it is for the best sometimes. I know it's hard especially on the children...but, time does heal...Congrats on your new addition!! Boy...she is really young...strange how the mom didn't want to nurse anymore...I know you will be a good mom to her and she will be fine..I am so glad to see you back!
I haven't been on here or YT for a while...Ijump on once in a while but don't usually stay...Since I have started my new job I can't stay up all night like I used to!!
BIG HUG to you!!

Aww, Mae is SO cute! One of my Yorkie's best friends is a lab named Hannah. They are such good dogs.
I'm so sorry about everything that's happened since you were last on the site. Sometimes life can be really hard and it just doesn't seem fair. I'm just so sorry that your family has to go through this painful situation.
I look forward to getting to know you better. I've only been on 4WT for a few weeks now, but I love it. Hope to see you around more!
