View Full Version : My final day!
Today is my last day at the bank!
I was "good" and completed the 2 weeks as promised, so now hope they'll play nice too and give me good referrences for future jobs. Today should be interesting to say the least. Fridays are always our busiest day because of people coming in with payroll checks, and since I was the vault custodian, had access to the alarm system codes, etc, I have to test, balance, and sign off on all sorts of things before I leave for the last time.
When I get home tonight I plan to have a nice strawberry margarita, put my feet up and sigh with relief. :D

I've been thinking off and on throughout the day about Tink's last day at the bank.
I can visualize her dealing w/ all the hassles that come w/ her position yet she smiles thinking "I will no longer take part of this crazy existence you people call gratifying work...So there for I am outta here and heading home to my strawberry margarita." She then turns around, shakes her booty and runs like mad hell outta that bank door and never looks back!! :2party: :cheer:  :goodluck: :msn_cake: :beermug: :tongue036: :awink:
Good luck Tink! One door just closed and a new one will open... The best! And enjoy that margarita....

So, tell us Tink. How was your last day at the bank? Did they throw you a going away party?? :congrats:
Thanks friends!
The day was odd, in that my system went down so I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with IT... and just after I got it back up and working, someone arrived from IT to replace our server, so I had to turn it all off again!
We got all the alarm system checks done, the vault and my drawer balances validated, all my keys and codes handed in, etc so I left with everything accounted for.
The teller I worked with brought in a cake that said "Good luck Brenda" on it, which was nice. My manager was busy packing up his office, so I really didn't have to contend with him much. It was nice to leave knowing I didn't have to ever go back. When I left the teller was having problems, and the manager was being his usual irritating self about it, so I skipped happily out the door.

It's always nice to know you don't have to go back to a job that you don't like. Congrats! Good luck with finding a new job or taking it easy, whichever is your plan.

I am so happy you were able to leave without any major problems and everything balancing out. Now you know you did the best you could, but it is just so hard working with a jerk as a manager.
I know the next position you find will be truly something you enjoy...now you know what to look out for ahead of time. Best wishes Tink in your job search.:)
