Why do men have to be told more than once to do anything????;)

Sometimes men may not realize the importance of what you may be asking them to do. It depends what the thing is. If it's important to the man or something he may like, he may even do it without asking. It all just depends.

When a man does something you ask of him, tell him you appreciate it and thank him. Nagging is not something a man generally likes or appreciates. A gentle reminder may be more beneficial to the situation, such as "Can you take out the trash now?" instead of "When are you going to take out the trash?".
