It's been a week since it happened but I haven't stopped thinking about it and wanted to share with you all.
Last week my husband and I were just relaxing on our back deck. We sat and chatted for a bit, relaxed in the hot tub, and just enjoyed the night. Shortly afterwards my hubby put in some cd's of music we used to listen to after first meeting many years ago.
Listening to the music, slow dancing on the deck brought back such memories I swear I was floating while dancing with him. Anway my husband asked a question that has stuck in my mind ever since last weekend.
As we were dancing, he pulled back, looked at me, and then asked..."Honey, do I still stir your soul"? I think I shocked him by my look and just staring at him. Being sooo in a moment of such love it took me a moment to respond to his question. "Of course you do and I wish I could tell you just how much you do", I answered back.
"Stir my soul"....Those three little words made my night and days since.
I write poetry and I am definitley going to have to sit and write a poem about this. I hope I never forget that night.
That's so sweet Sheryl!
I love when married couples have those moments. It makes all those tougher times worthwhile.

Sheryl, that's so sweet and wonderful! Times like that are what makes life worth living. Sounds like you have an incredible hubby.
If you write that poem, we would love to see it if you are willing to share it with us! :)

That's interesting you ask that Traci. Because normally no he doesn't. This is why I was so shocked by his use of words. I mean I can see me saying something along those lines asking him but for him to ask me I was like "WOW!".
He's great at saying he loves me, and asks me every single day how I slept the night before, you know simple things like that. But "stir my soul" was over the top for me.
Oh and Angie, yes when I finish the poem (haven't even started yet) I will share it.
Do any of you ladies write poetry? My mind at times can be "waaayyyyy out there" ( I know, none of you are surprised) so writing helps me express what seems to be etched inside me that I would never be able to express verbally. My "communication" skills stink - LOL.

aww I think that it was not in character for him makes it even better. I do write poetry but I haven't in awhile. I love to write to get emotions out. It's a wonderful release.

Do you mean a literal memory box or was that figurative? Cause a real one would such a good idea! I had one when I was in high school, but I haven't kept up with it in such a long time. Maybe I'll start a new one. :)

Angie, i have a memorie box for goodies like cards & letters i get from friends that i keep in my special place, i look at those things when i feel kinda down, or out of sorts, it always manages to make me smile.
My other memorie box is in my mind/heart, full of experiences, and memories that i will never ever erase. Its funny how ive always used these since childhood, i sometimes talk with my brother about our childhood, and bring up topics which he can not remember, he tells me i have a good memorie, well i dont! But there are things that one never wants to forget.

That's awesome Mandy. I made one in high school the same way only I put concert tickets and other special "things" in there as well. I actually have one of my little sister's first outfits she ever had in there...and it is SO tiny! :) I love that box and I wouldn't sell it for a million bucks!

My husband & son know to stay away from my box, if they touch it, they get a ticket, and i slap their fingers. That is MY box with all my cherished moments and you right, no money in the world can replace that!:D

Do you ever show them anything from there? Do you have just one or do you have several for different stages in your life?
Oh, and another thing I love are friendship journals! You pass them to friends and you take turns writing in them. You can add anything you want and they turn into such great memories! I still have several from high school and they always make me laugh and reminisce on all of the great times my friends and I had. :)

Sheryl, so wonderful that you had that moment to treasure. They can really surprise us sometimes and it usually happens in the most common of places or unexpected of times. It's just a moment and means so much. Wow. You are truly blessed.

That is so great Mandy!! I have what they call a hope chest that I keep stuff like that in. I wonder if a hope chest is the same as a memory box? LOL -
I have this big book - I am not sure what one would call it, possibly a scrap book I guess. Anyway, it contains notes on napkins, letters on paper, movie tickets, and other memorabilia that my hubby gave when we were dating and first married. Honestly, i don't think I've added to it in sooo many years. Not good. :p We haven't written a love letter to each other in years and years and years. The closest we get to that now are greeting cards. Funny how all that changes. :o
