I bought THIS (http://www.payless.com/Images/beauty/054851_beauty.gif) pair of red heels on Sunday. There's just something about a cute new pair of shoes that makes a girl feel fabulous. (Don't you agree?) I'm such a shoe-girl. But, anyways...

My first time wearing my fabulous new pair of red heels was last night. While walking into the restaurant with my husband to meet up with a handful of friends, a terrible thing happened......my right heel broke OFF!

I was so bummed that I "limped" into the restaurant and plopped down into a chair at the table with my friends. I pulled off my heel and with my big pouty bottom-lip pooched out, I whined to the girls about what had just happened to my fun new shoes. All the girls immediately sympathized and suggested I take them back, etc.

My husband speaks up and tells the group, "well, I don't understand why you can't just break the other heel off and keep wearing them!"

The table fell *silent* as my husband received blank unenthralled looks from all the girls. The other guys at the table cracked up laughing. I must admit I laughed too. My husband was like, "ok, ok, maybe not then."

He's a funny guy, my Eli.

(He said I could post this, even though he "doesn't understand why I think it's so funny." - LOL!)

The link didn't do right - and I can't seem to find the exact pair of red heels I bought. (from Payless Shoes, go figure. They're "identical" in design to my gold Steve Maddens....but I've worn them several times and they're still awesome...I guess that's what I get for buying a knockoff brand!)

This is more like them: http://images.helloemeralds.com/f/726/16199/12h/www.helloemeralds.com/emeralds/assets/product_images/PAOHIDIEGJKGAODNt.jpg except my pair is solid red patent and the heel is more like 2 1/4 inches or so.

Don't you just hate it when you buy something new, and feel so wonderful in them, that once you get somewhere, they break, or you find a hole or rip that you didn't see when you put them on?

I would take them back and get your money or you can check with a shoe store and see if they can be fixed. We use to have a shop that never sold shoes, but was a repair shop. I guess it's just a lost art, because it went out of business many years ago and I don't remember seeing others.

I tell you, men have no clue when it comes to understanding women! Even after being married for almost 33 years my husband is still in the dark. You gotta' love them though!!

Like Janet said, I'd take the shoes back too and get them replaced.

Yes! I was able to return the shoes. I tried to exchange them, but they didn't have any left in my size.

I guess I will continue my hunt for the perfect pair of cute red heeled sandals!

Just thought you would be happy to know they took them back without any argument.

Good for you. If something isn't right with a product I always take it back...these stores need to stand behind what they sell. Way to go!!!
