I've mentioned how hubby usually gets crabby and nasty when it's time to leave for the week. Well yesterday it was just him and me at home when he was getting ready to go, and the orneriness began again. I decided it would serve no purpose to stay here and fight with him, so I hopped in my car and spent the day shopping.

I went to a friends garage sale, and visited there for a bit, then took off for a city. I ended up getting a spring jacket for myself, several books at GoodWill for hubby, and a few little essentials for the house. I didn't spend much, but it sure was nice to escape the crabby session!

Once I got home, hubby called and was back to his normal self. LOL It sure helps to just know and escape from his wacky pattern.

That was smart thinking, Tink. You got out and away from his behavior and went shopping. You were able to get a few things without overspending too. I love garage sales and flea markets. They're my get-aways too.

Thanks ladies. I actually enjoyed myself so much that I decided to do it again on Sunday. LOL

I was alone for the day, so hopped in the car and headed North this time. We're mid-way between 3 cities of about 50,000 - 60,000 people, so just under an hr drive in 3 different directions will land us in one of them.

I got a few good bargains again, and ended up paying full price (which I almost never do) for a pair of balloon shades for my bedroom. They were exactly what I'd been wanting, and dreaded making, so I splurged. My bedroom is very shabby chic, so I got white shades with tiny pink roses on... too cute.

Great thinking! INstead of dealing with a crabby man, go have fun!!! Sounds like you got some great bargins all while having fun. My dad used to stress out big time and turn into a grump before we would set out on family trips. It really ruins the mood! I'm glad you got to have a nice conversation with him after he finally hit the road! ...men:rolleyes:
