Here are pics of a home hubby just finished. All I have now are inside pics, but it is quite a house. My amature photography does not do it justice.

Here are just a few more. I tried to edit and eliminate some the ones I already posted, but I waited too long and could not.

This home has lots of faux finishes and other details that may not show up in the pics.

Very beautiful, but ya know...I don't know if I, personally would be comfortable there. Everything was so big and grand. A lot of things I fell in love with, others I could do without. Love the outside BBQ area. It would probably look alot more 'homey' with furniture and all.

There is no way I could EVER afford a home like that. I would probably find it hard to afford the heat and cooling.

Marilyn, what a beautiful home!!! Somebody is going to have a wonderful home to move into! Your husband is very talented!! Did you help him with any ideas? I love the outdoor grill area!

We don't have homes that are that grand in our area because we're in a farm community. When we built ours the appraiser appraised ours quite a bit lower than it took to build it because we "had too long of a driveway" and "there wasn't a market" for a home like ours. Since we have built ours though a lot of our friends have built homes around the same price range as we did proving that there IS a market for them.

Thanks for sharing the pictures!!! I really enjoyed seeing them!!!! I love home tours!!!

Diana, that's something that I've always found frustrating. If a home doesn't fall into the mold of typical housing, they can't find comparables for them to evaluate them properly. Hubby and I built an earth bermed house and ran into that very problem. It didn't matter that it had 10" walls and was super insulated... that it had tile countertops in an area where most have the cheaper laminate, etc. Since they couldn't find a comparable house nearby, it was devaluated. Just being a rural property puts you at a disadvantage because thre are so few places near you to begin with! Nevermind that being a rural propery with 20 acres of woods made it a hot commodity when it came time to sell!

Holy dear mother of GOD!! what a house that is. Now I know why you have such a beautiful home...with a carpentry "artist" for a husband...I would have to agree with Janet though...I don't know if I could live in a home like that...I am a country girl...build me a log cabin and I am a happy camper...Although I do appreciate other styles.
Thanks for sharing Marilyn!

Ladies, I have to agree with you about this house being too big. It's way more than I want to keep up with. Whenever we tour homes like this, I always comment that I sure wouldn't want to clean all of that!!! And my girls remind me that the people who can afford those homes have someone else to clean them.

BTW, I had nothing to do with the design, or anything on this home. It was all my husband and the owners.

I do like the back porch though. I would like to have one as wide, but about half the size and with an outdoor kitchen, but not quite as large as this one.

I'm concerned how the finished wood on the porch ceiling is going to hold up here near the humid coast, but that is what the owner's wanted, and it is cedar so hopefully it will be okay.

The master closet is awesome, but would not want a window in my closet, fades the clothes.
