Have you ever just met someone that you really hit it off with? I met a woman this weekend that I have a ton of respect for and it seems we have SO much in common even though there is nearly a decade's difference in our ages. We've become close pretty quickly and I'm just so thankful for a new friend. Life is crazy, sometimes you make a new friend at JUST the right time...I feel so blessed... We are at almost the exact same place in our marriage even though she has a daughter and I am still a college student. We constantly joke with each other about who's hubby is more amazing, lol. she's a lot of fun and a breath of fresh air (that's how we both feel about each other). I'm going to try to get her to come here.
Has this ever happened to you guys before, you meet someone that you connect really well with when it feels it's the perfect time to have a new friend?

Yes that has happened to me also, I met someone through YT who only lives about 25 minutes from me...she's Lynne on here, abbey46923 on YT. She is a great friend and I love her to death. I always enjoy talking and just being with her. There are a few others too that have entered my life and it's such a good feeling.

Aww, I'm glad to hear it. It is rare to "click" on a deep level with someone right away - but we all deserve friends like that, and it is a breath of fresh air, I agree! I'm really happy for you! You have similarities that brought you together, and I think the age difference can really enrich what each of you bring to the table of your friendship (so to speak)!

Definitely, but I'm so glad I met her. We really just hit it off so well. Unfortunately, she lives pretty far away so we've been keeping in contact through email and IM. I hope we don't lose touch...

Like any friendship, so do long distance friendships need regular contact. You will find that you guys have so much to say to each other, and you will see, the friendship will only grow closer. ;)

Yes Angie, Mandy is so right. You have to nurture friendships and not put them on the back burner. It's hard enough when friends live close because of family, committments..etc. and even hard sometimes long distance.

I have had two friends like this. One was closer to our mother's age. She moved away & has now moved back but she seems different. I saw her when she first got back but not since then. That was around a month ago. I don't know where she moved or a number so I can't find her. The second I have only been talking to for a few weeks. She moved in next door & our kids hit it off so we met. I ended up staying just talking to her for 5 hrs until my hubby come to check on me at 1am. We didn't even realize the time. She is a wonderful person & we have much in common. Congrats Angie.

Angie,
I'm so happy for you. Good friends are a real blessing. They can help get you through just about anything, the good times and the bad.

I agree. I'm so lucky when it comes to friends, but I've definitely gone through my share of bad ones. I guess that makes me appreciate good friends even more though. They truly are a blessing.
Bad friends - who hasn't been through that! You're right Angie. It does make you appreciate the good ones.

That is wonderful Angie!! I've been through the same thing a little over a year ago. I lived for years right down our dirt road from a lady who I just never introduced myself to. Well, finally we met and we were instant friends.
I adore her and even though her and I went through some tough times together due to a jealous husband of hers our friendship made it through.
She's the one I ride horses with a lot and if we don't talk daily "something's wrong".
I hope you find yourself many years with your new friend and the bond continues.
I agree w/ Mandy also. Friendships close or far need focus on "keeping in touch". I've seen friendships end because the time wasn't taken to care for the relationship.

That's so sweet Sheryl! I'm glad you have found someone who you can be that close to. I'm pretty lucky when it comes to friends as well. :)
Glad to see you back on the forum!!!
