Joels girl friend and I planted about 70 bulbs today. My hands are sore, I'm sunburned and breaking out (I'm allergic to the sun) yet I'm SO glad to have those bulbs in the ground! I have Liatrus, a wide variety of lillies, lady fern, canna lillies, hollyhocks, and oriental poppies started.

I'd underestimated the distance they're supposed to be planted from each other, so the bulbs covered a lot more ground than I'd planned for. I put them the minimum distance from each other, so they'll be nice and thick once they're grown.

What occurred to me tonight is that the hundreds of plants I have sprouting from seed will need to go into NEW beds and we'll need to expand the ones we have now because we filled up the ones we had with bulbs! OMG it's gonna look like a truckload of flowers rolled over in my yard. LOL I love it.

It sounds like your yard will be beautiful, Tink!!! I'm not planting any flowers in protest for the way my husband left my yard after repairing a water leak!!! You'll definitely have to post pictures for us!

I was out checking on my plants today and counted between 360 and 370 of them. Oh my... I hope I get some help transplanting!

It's unseasonably warm so if it stays like this I could do it now, but it would be highly unusual for it to stay this way this early in the year. I'd hate to sacrifice all my plants and work if we get freezing temperatures again.

Please do post pics. I tried planting some caladium's in the front flower bed a couple of years ago, but an armadillo dug them up, do they would probably get flower bulbs, too. Flowering plants are the best!!!!

I can't wait to see pictures! It's going to be beautiful. In Brooklyn, if I see 5 tulips on a tiny front lawn, I get excited!
