Wow, I'm glad the Mom (or whoever was recording) finally told her a more appropriate word for a three year old. I was kind of shocked at first, but that was pretty funny. Thanks for sharing Tink.

Kids say the darnest things! That was funny! It doesn't matter how well a child is taught what to say, they pick up things from everyone and TV. They are such sponges.
That's right Janet, and to me that's what makes this so funny. It looks from the way she reacted when told that wasn't a nice word, that it hadn't been discussed before, 'cause she just said "OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH" like it was a new idea to her. I thought she was adoreable and had the person filming not been cracking up, I think she might have been very serious about her intention to protect herself from the monster. Too cute.

Kids say the cutest things! I would have been just like her mom, cracking up!!! I'm glad that her mom corrected her to use a different word though.

That was pretty funny to hear, but i am glad her mom corrected her. She was adorable, and sounded quite serious till her mom started laughing.

That was funny. It's so hard to keep a straight face when they do things like this. My youngest son came off the bus while in first grade & told me he was something another student had called him. When I told him he couldn't say this because it was a bad word, he cried. I explained since he didn't know the word it was ok just to not say it again. After that I made a deal with all the kids that if they don't know a word they can say it to me once while asking if it is ok to say. After that they will be in trouble for using it again if it is bad. It's funny how we have to change to ground rules sometimes.
That was too cute. How else do you get rid of a monster? I think the Mom handled it well. When my daughter was 3, I took her off the bus the first day of camp and asked her "How was camp, honey?" Her reply, in her sweet little 3 year old voice - "It was s**t." All I could do after I finally was able to talk was to tell her that **** was a bad word, and that maybe she'd like camp the next day.
