Today I had a man call and want to come and look at the puppies. Without thinking, I said sure and told him where I lived. When I hung up the phone I thought to myself..."that was a dumb thing to do" I live in the country and I was home alone.

He arrived and was a very nice, tall, dark looking man. As nervous as I was, I let him in and he went directly to the puppies. He just loved on the little boy and I stayed between him and the door. He asked questions, I answered, I asked questions, he answered. He then said he had my number and would like to bring his girlfriend back. He stuck out his hand to shake mine, I obliged and then he left.

He was a very nice man, but I started thinking about the robberies of Yorkies and just everything bad. I was so scared, but I think I did good toward earning a nomination for an Emmy! I will never do that again...

Janet, I'm glad it went well. I used to worry about that when I sold real estate and would have to meet men in vacant houses. There have been some sickos that took advantage of women that way too. So I know it can be worrisome.

If you're not comfortable doing this, try to schedule differently. I know it's hard to stall people but you have to do what's best for you.

I'm glad things turned out ok Janet. It is sad that we have to worry about things like this in society. Maybe try meeting people who want to see the puppies at a park where you know other people will be?

Thanks all, it was such a shock when he called, because he saw a sign and called from right up the road. Next time I am definitely telling them that they can come of an evening when everyone is home.

Isn't it something! I won't even open my door for anyone who I don't know.

I'm glad this was a nice person and nothing happened to you.

I agree with Traci. It's sad that we live in a our world where you can't even trust someone to come look at your puppies without being afraid. I'm glad things worked out alright Janet. I'll be sad when your puppies are gone though...

I would have done the same thing because I'm so trusting. I think that it's because I live in a small town and very seldom does anything bad happen.

You can not be careful enough these days, unfortunatly. Janet, make sure next time, your hubby or son is at home when someone wants to make an appointment to look at the babies.
Too many weirdo's walking around, never know who you can trust.

You got that right Mandy. I should have known better, but he caught me off guard when he said he was right up the road. I DO know better now. Our town is really kind of small too, but bad things are starting to happen, like the latin gangs and we've had a drive by shooting....at a cop!

So glad I'm in the country away from all that...for now. We all use to sleep with the doors and windows open when I was little, but you can't do that now. It makes me so sad.

No girl, he caught you off guard, and only afterwards we start thinking about it, i have had similar things happen to me many times before. My husband always tells me, we need to realize that not everybody is the way we are. I trust people easly, so in a kind way, he tries to warn me.

Janet, soooo glad nothing happened. We all get caught off guard sometimes. We know you will be more cautious next time.

Glad things worked out. I think we have all said and done things that sound crazy later. I am famous for it. I only have one question... How on earth do you manage to let go of those pups? They are simply adorable!
