It's going to be close to 80 degrees today. It's a perfect day to take a book and sit on the beach, but I can't take Max. Dogs aren't allowed. I wouldn't anyway - it's too hot and there's no shade. I also want to go to Yoga tonight so I really can't go to the beach all afternoon and then go out again tonight. I hate doing this to him.

Just had to get that off my chest. Now I feel better. I'm going to begin looking for a puppy after the summer so that I won't always have to feel bad abut leaving Max all alone or not wanting to play with him, etc. I'Ve never had only one animal and I don't like it. I think they need another dog to play with.

I feel the same way. They entertain each other and are not lonely. My three get along great.

Judy i know so well what you mean, we got our second yorkie only 3 months after our first, i felt too guilty to leave my little girl home alone while i had to go out, even just a few hours was too long, so i ended up staying home, whenever she couldnt come along with me.

Hello

I Agree That They Would Be Company For Each Other. But I Have Never Had 2 Dogs At One Time, And Though I Can See The Advantages, I Am Worried That My Harvey Would Change, He Would Not Want His Mummy So Much! And He Would Not Be Able To Get All The Attention He Now Gets.

I Know This Must Sound So Silly - It Does To Me As I Write It.......

Maybe In Time I Will Change My Mind, Harvey Is 14 Months Old And Is Just My Little Baby. I Wish I Could Explain This Better.

I don't think you're being silly. That's how you feel. (Lucky Harvey!)

Anyway, I never got to take Max outside. I was online for hours. I decided to drop him off at a nice doggie day care near my Yoga Center for a couple of hours so that he could play with other dogs and I wouldn't feel so guilty. Don't you know that they're not doing day care anymore. So - no yoga for Mommy. We took a nice long walk on a big shopping street in Brooklyn and had our time out. It wasn't meant to be.

I have to figure out how to have time for being online, but schedule it better. All day is not good. I'm totally addicted and it' so nice outside.

You explained it perfectly Diane, we undertand how you feel! I have 2 little girls now, and am still exactly the same, to us they are like our little daughters, we do everything for them, all our outings turn around them, if they cant go with us, then we dont like to go. As much as i would love another puppy, i just dont think the two of them will accept it. Though i want to tell you, that IF you are considering another puppy, dont wait too long, Harvey is still young, and an only child, it will be easier for him to accept it, and become friends faster. (just a thought) :)
