I'm a student at Texas State University, and my school has made headlines today!!!

BBC World News (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6646177.stm)
CNN News (http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/05/11/body.farm.ap/index.html)
FOX News (http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2007May10/0,4670,ODDBodyFarm,00.html)

They are planning on making a body farm near the airport, but someone finally pointed out the vulture problem. So now the university's gotta find a new location.

We'd been joking about where it was, right next to the airport is also the Gary Job Corps, which is a place to rehabilitate problem youth, it's kinda like a juvenile detention center alternative, and we always joked that they'd put 10 bodies there and on the next count there'll be 12.

I'm glad they'll be moving it cause that place is between where I may be living next year and the University so I'd be driving past it everyday.

I'm glad that they moved it. It would be kinda' gross to drive past it everyday. I wouldn't want one near me! Hurray for vultures!!!!

I had to look up what a 'body farm' was. Yuk!! Glad there are not very many of them.

It's one of those things you have to just sit back and rationalize to see the benefits, it's really helped out police investigations and revolutionized forensic science and gives authorities and specialists a view of how to more accurately analyze a crime scene and determine a more accurate time frame for time of death.

Wow, I didn't know such a thing existed. That's pretty gross, but I can see how it would be useful. I'm glad they moved it though.

i didn't know what it was either. oye. they should do those things in the middle of "nowhere"...not next to highly populated areas. that is just nasty. talk about bringing down your property value. "It's a great house/building but it is next to a body farm!"

no thanks :)

sorry, I think about property values too many times a day :)
