Awww! These are sweet days for you and your daughter - and you sound like you're really enjoying them. The tooth fairy used to leave my daughter little letters about herself, and her sister, Heather. Did you know that she always wears her purple gown when she comes to get little girls' teeth? My daughter did the same thing for her oldest daughter, by the way.

How much does the tooth fairy bring these days?

When I was young it was 25 cents, when my son was young (he's 16 now) it was $1.00. Not sure what the going rate for a tooth is nowadays.

hehe...i had NO idea what the "going rate" was...but she got a $1 bill and 6 quarters :) just what was in our "catch all" bowl in the kitchen, minus the pennies :)

she was ecstatic

this morning, she was so excited to see her teacher and tell her about it. so she gets up this morning "Is my tooth still gone??? cuz I want to show miss allison" HAHAHA I laughed soooooo hard. yes, hun, it is still gone :)

Years ago when my husband's little sister (she was only a year older than my son) lost a tooth she happened to be staying with us while my husband's brother was in the hospital seriously hurt. We had been traveling 100 miles to the hospital to check on him so my husband had quite a bit of cash in his wallet. Well, the kids slept on the hide-a-bed in the living room that night so I wasn't able to take care of the tooth and decided to have my husband do it when he came in the house (he was working in the shop). So [U]in the dark[U] he pulled out some money and put it under her pillow. The next morning we woke up with her yelling "I'm rich!! I'm rich!!!" I sent my husband in to see what he'd done and he had given her $20!! With all of our traveling and expenses he tried to get it back but in the end didn't have the heart to do it so he let her keep it with the promise that she had to buy their brother in the hospital a gift. We all laugh about it now, especially her. She says that she really believed that there was a tooth fairy.

The next time she lost a tooth she saved it and brought it over with her, but the tooth fairy left her a penny and a note that said she was broke!! The story has been worth the $20 but at the time it wasn't so funny.

Me too!!! I think that I only got a quarter! The funny thing is....is that my OWN kids never had it that good!!!
