On Wednesday I am picking up my oldest granddaughter for a few days of one on one time together. She's 7, and is my buddy.
When Paige was 1- 4, I babysat for her 5 days a week so we got very connected.
We now live over an hour apart, but talk on the phone and MSN frequently. She learned to read and write early so that she could chat with me online and has a very special place in my heart.

I've got several things planned for our days together, so likely won't be online a whole lot during that time. I just had to share my excitement. It's SO fun being a grandma when you get to actually spend time with them!

Tink, that's so exciting!! I always wished I had a grandmother I could hang out with like that. You and your granddaughter are both very lucky to have each other. :)

I hope you have an amazing time together and I can't wait to hear all about it later!

Have fun Grandma. I just had to let my almost 6 month old grandson go home with mom who lives 21/2 hours away today. He was here for the weekend.
I cried when he left. He is my one and only so far. I wouldn't know what to do without him now.
Enjoy your time with her.

Ah, grandchildren are so wonderful (except when you have all of them at once!!). I love having one-on-one with my grandchildren (I have 5). We had them all spend the night a couple of weeks ago and it's just about all I can take. They're not bad, they just like to get rowdy. They had fun, but I was sure ready for them to go home.

Have a great time with your little granddaughter, take a lot of pictures, and we'll see you after she leaves.

ROFL Diana, I know all too well what you mean!
I also have a granddaughter who just turned 2, and I was offered to take her as well. I kindly declined, because I simply cannot keep up with her for any length of time. I love her dearly, but don't think my heart would take having her for any stretch of time yet.

That is so wonderful Tink. I bet you are the best grandma!! I was never lucky enough to know what grandparents are like. Mine were all gone by the time I was born. I wish I could've have known them.
