I spent 5 hours on the dentist's chair today! He got a lot of work done, but I'm wiped out.

My dental work is a long, boring saga. I've always had lots of cavities, etc. - bad teeth, hated my smile, root canals never lasted, neither did caps. My father passed away 11 years ago, and I decided to finally have my teeth done with the money he left me. I went to NYU College of Dentistry, where dentists become students to learn new procedures It was 1/2 the price of a regular implant specialist, but takes so long before you're finished!

I finished about 3 years ago and loved my teeth and my smile. About 4 months later, I was biting into a Granola bar when the front 2 teeth (capped) broke. They're still redoing the entire top at an amazingly good price, because it was their fault, but I really wish they'd finish already!

About 2 months ago, the bottom two capped teeth broke! They wanted a lot more money this time, but I spoke with the Director today and he said he'll lower it for me. That's what today's surgery was all about.

I swear, I'll be dead and buried and they'll be digging me up, saying "Just one more procedure Judy, and we'll be finished."

I have the nicest dentist in the world though, and the Director is also a sweetheart.

Anyway, I took a tranquilizer before they started this morning and 1/2 a vicodin when I got home. Feeling very mellow girls! Every cloud does have a silver lining!

Max got to go to Doggie Day Care so he's laid out sleeping. He had a ball!

It's wonderful that you have access to such high quality dental care. Hope all goes well and this is the last for a while. BTW, in you avatar, you have a beautiful smile!!!

My teeth are not the greatest. I had never been to a dentist until after I was married. Parents couldn't afford it. Now I can only afford to make sure my son's teeth stay in great shape. I won't have him going through life without the proper dental care.

I'm sorry that you have such trouble with your teeth. My husband gets cavities easily, but he has beautiful straight teeth. I, on the other hand, hardly ever get cavities, but my teeth are not straight. We've always gone to the dentist once a year. I figure in the long run it's money well spent.

Marilyn's right, your teeth do look really nice in your photo. Hopefully you'll get this all taken care of soon.

Thanks girls!

Those teeth in that smile are the result of hours of dental work, so I'm really glad to get positive feedback!

Janet - your smile is lovely in your picture. I don't think you need to worry about how your teeth look.

Judy, I to have had problems with my teeth since I was a teenager. I was scared of the dentist and as a result I have caps and bridges. I didn't realize that NYU dentristry did the work for half price, that is good to know. I use an excellent dentist but he is soo expensive as they all are. My husbands cousin is a dentist also. You do have a beautiful smile :)

Hope that your enjoying your silving lining lol , listen maybe one day when I come into Bklyn we can meet for lunch. what do you think?

Gina,

You may have caps and bridges, but they're finished! I'm missing the teeth on the upper right side (they're out at the lab getting something done to them). I haven't had steak in 3 years, on and on, and on. But, when they finish, I will have nice teeth.

Please call me when you come into Brooklyn - we can meet for lunch. Of course, I can only eat soft food, but...:yelrotflmao:

I'm sorry it's such a frustrating process Judy, but your smile in your profile picture really does look great! Maybe this time really will be the last procedure and then you'll be done...

Good luck!
