I saw a repeat of Oprah with Bob Greene on. I think I'll buy his book, Lord knows I've tried all the other diets and nothing is working. I'm really getting depressed about my weight...I'm failing miserably.

When Lynne and I went to pick up Fancy, of course we took pictures and to see myself just about made me sick. Thank God none of them had my stomach in them, but seeing how big my upper arms are just about grossed me out.

I've got to get busy or I'll be beyond the point of no return.

I'm doing Weight Watchers. If you want to join us, let me know and we'll encourage each other online!!!!

I started a diet a while back. I haven't lost anything, but I've started walking to the end of the driveway. (It's not too bad going down, but coming back to the house is about 1/4 mi. all uphill!!!)

I haven't heard of Bob Greene. Is he someone who has helped Oprah?

Yes Diana, he is Oprah's personal trainer and neighbor. He has the book "The Best Life Diet." Just watching the show again, makes me want to try again at the weightloss game.

Marilyn, I didn't join WW's but had been following it pretty good. I lost some weight with it, but then it got old...like all other diets. I don't care for a lot of foods and my biggest fall back is I don't like cooking. I think I could lose so much weight if I had a chef.....ROFLMAO!!!! I like most veggies, but have a hard time with fruits...I only like apples and bananas. I love orange juice, but hate oranges or their smell when you open them up. Most recipes have tomatoes on or in them and I don't care for those either. Hard to lose when I'm so picky. Sure wish there was a pizza and chocolate diet....LOLOL

LOL! If you could make a pizza and chocolate diet and lose weight, you'd be a millionaire! :) I think nearly every woman in the world would want to be your new best friend. hehe.

We went out to Red Lobster last night. The meal was so good and I ate every morsel there was. Today....I feel horrible. My stomach feels like it is an entity all by itself...just stuck on my body. I don't know why I do this to myself. I did get down to 218 I think it was, but I've gained 11 lbs back..you do the math. Makes be sick to think about typing it out. I've got to do something and I know it. I'm 52 years old and it's not getting any easier to lose. Why did I let this happen to myself....I'm so discouraged.

I know most of the times I make up excuses...don't like to cook, don't like being out in the humidity, not enough time...etc..etc. As bad as I feel, why can't I get myself motiviated!

Janet,

Have you tried walking? I know how hot it's been. ALSO. If you drink a full glass of water before you sit down to eat you won't eat as much. I know what do I know about losing weight. I do gain. I don't know of any one that is pleased with their weight. OK here I go. It just amazes me how people say they hate me because i'm small. Don't they know that that hurts just as bad as some one telling a big person they are fat. Sorry I'm not perfect either. Good luck with your weight. I"m here if you need me.

 :o :o :(

Janet I am so sorry you feel so bad. I am about your age and I have gained a lot of weight in the last few years also. I haven't eaten much at all in the last week and I thought maybe the only good thing coming out of this is I will lose weight. Finally got on the scales this morning and I have lost one or two pounds. I thought at least five.
I saw your pictures and I don't think you look bad. We all know you are a beautiful lady inside and out.

I get that a lot too Cecil. Sometimes people just don't understand that it goes both ways...

I'm sorry you've hit a rough spot Janet, but I'm still here cheering you on. I know you can do girl! *hugs* Like Mom said, you are beautiful inside and out (and she is too!). :)

Thanks ladies! I don't feel bad, I just get so angry with myself. I'm a pretty smart woman, I think, and I know what I need to do. It's just I do well for short periods of time and then blow it all to ......well, you know.

I've got to get it together before I get too much older!

Oh Janet, you CAN do it. Take little steps. Walk around the block with the dogs. Smaller portions at one meal a day. You can do it!!!!

It's kinda of hard walking around the block out in the country. I do walk down the road now and then, but so many irresponsible dog owners let their dogs run loose and they are not the nicest dogs.

I have cut back on food I really don't need, so we'll see if it helps some. I know some of the diet guru's say if you drink a lot of soft drinks cut those out and you'll lose weight, or if you have a bowl of ice cream every night, cut that out. So I'm still trying....just frustrated.

I'm one (like a lot of people) who wants to see results right away and it just doesn't happen that way.
