My son is so thrilled, his cast came off today. He says it feels really weird and it's different trying to make his thumb work...lol Doc says it will take a few days, but to keep moving it.

He scared me a little bit walking out of the office. He said.."Mom I can't see" and started reaching for the door, but not touching it. He gets real oozie feeling in hospitals and Drs. office. After he got out to the van, he laid the seat back and started feeling better. Poor guy. He said he thought he was blacking out at the office.

I'm so glad that he's finally able to get it off Janet!! That's exciting news! I remember when my brother got his off the doctor told him to play video games so that he'd strengthen the muscles in his hand...he loved that. "Mom, I HAVE to play video games...doctor's orders!" lol. Maybe that would be good for your son as well...

Anyway, congrats!

My kids would have been saying "Swimming here I come!!!" Having a cast or stitches were always the worst thing to have in the summer because it kept them from playing in the water. I'm glad that it's off and everything's ok!!

He' doing great. Took him a couple days not to 'favor' is left hand, but he's getting back to normal now. I think he'd have a better summer if he had a job. He's still trying, but not hard enough in my opinion. I think he's going to go ahead with detasseling corn, but I know he's not going to like it. Especially on the really hot, humid days. We'll see.

I'm so glad he's been able to get rid of the cast before it gets really hot and sticky too! MAN those things are warm and itchy to wear and they get all stinky... lol

I hope he has a great summer.

I'm glad he's feeling better Janet. Maybe you could inspire him to look for work by telling him how awful detasseling corn would be on those hot days? Good luck!
