Happy Thursday to all of you!
It's about a million degrees here, and we had our first blackout yesterday. It only lasted about 35-40 minutes and covered a small area, but it's a view of things to come. Here in NYC we simply cannot keep up with the demand for electricity. I heard yesterday that this is going to be a really hot summer too.
The funny part of it was the media. They carried on for about 2 hours over this, breaking into programming, extending coverage, etc. It was about a 20 block area in one borough and other spots were affected. I think they made things up - it really was not that interesting or that big a deal unless you were stuck on a train or sick and had no a/c. The thing is, New Yorkers are used to it, so tell us about it, and then go on about your business. We do.
Max was feeling under the weather, so I took him to the vet. He's okay now. The heat is getting to him, and she gave him a shot to settle his stomach because he wasn't eating much.
Anyway, I have about 10 minutes to get out of here. I have to go to the dentist in the city (Manhattan). Yuck! The city in the heat is a preview of hell.
But then, I'm going to get my nails done and then my hair. Poor Max will be home for about 5 hours. I put the a/c on for him and he sleeps, but I don't like leaving him home alone. Definitely time for another dog.
Have a wonderful day, whatever you hace planned.
