Our "problem neighbors" have a yellow lab pup that's about 5 months old. She's let run loose and is not taught any manners etc by them. In the past week she's run off with and destroyed 2 planters full of my flowers, and a child size lawn chair from my place. She got hold of a brand new shoe and chewed the tongue out of it, and destroyed a bird bath at another neighbors place. She's been caught in the amish families chicken coop killing and maiming their birds.

She's not a dumb dog, she's just not given attention or training. She eats with my dogs and drinks water from their pool. She's learned not to jump on me, sits when I tell her to, and now comes when I call her. She's here more than home, but I truly don't need or want her.

Before when the man next door was in jail, their animals were simply abandoned. I rehomed a couple of their cats and several neighbors fed and watered their other cats and a dog. I'm guessing this dog will soon be abandoned too. Last time this happened I called our county humane society and was told they'd take the animals IF I'd bring them to them and pay $25 for each one I brought in. I'd also have to sign surrender papers so if they ever came looking for the animals they could tell them who gave them up. I thought this was ludicrous!

Would I be wrong in just finding these animals new homes myself right away this time? I am so turned off by the local HS that I don't even want to contact them, but those poor animals deserve homes! They are going to end up dead if they keep raising caine and once my fence is up, hopefully they won't be able to get in with my dogs anymore. I don't however want them to starve.

They have 2 cats and the lab pup.
