I hate to be a whiner all the time, so waited till I had good news to share!
On Monday night/ Tuesday morning My chocolate lab, Montana, disappeared. I went out to feed and water them that morning and only Canada was there. Montanas collar was wide open on the end of her cable but she was no where around. I contacted the humane society, sheriffs dept, and had an announcement on the local radio station trying to find her. I drove around, stopped and talked with people, and no one had seen her. I was afraid she'd decided to head back to Iowa!
Today I heard that a township just a couple miles from me had a policy of taking strays to a vet clinic 20 miles north of me rather than to the HS... so I called them.
They have had her for 2 days already! She's fine, I can pick her up tomorrow and I am incredibly relieved.
How she got that collar off I do not know. It's new so it's not flimsy or wore out, etc. It's actually a heavy duty hunting collar with reflective areas on it just in case she should escape... but since she left it behind it didn't do much good.
Dh was so relieved when he learned I'd located her that he's promised to get the fence for the girls finished this weekend before he leaves so we never have to go through this again.
If I have all 3 dogs in the house together, they tear the place apart and about send me flying... so I've been switching off and obviously that wasn't enough for them. lol Poor Canada has been so upset over Montana being gone that she hadn't eaten in 2 days. Today I finally got her to eat.
So anyway, I just wanted to share GOOD news!
p.s.
Thanks for listening to me whine through this ordeal emmsmom. You're a great friend to have in a crisis.
