My mother is going through a very difficult time right now. She's doesn't get on the computer very often, so I thought I'd post this for her. On Thursday, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a single mother and my youngest brother and sister still live at home so the surgery and chemo will be very hard on her. My husband and I are going to help out as much as possible, but if you guys could leave her some really encouraging comments that will brighten her day when she signs back in, it would mean a lot to all of us. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

Angie, I just hated reading this. We all must remember..including Debbie, there are many, MANY who survive breast cancer. I know with all her family and friends and now friends worldwide thanks to 4WT, that Debbie will have all the prayers and support to get her through this. We love you Debbie!

Angie, this must be very hard for you and your family, and especially your mom, of course. So very sad to hear this news. You all must maintain a positive outlook. As already stated, lots of women beat this disease. There is much cause for hope and encouragement.

You are in my prayers. Call on us anytime for whatever we can offer.

How is Debbie doing Angie? I'm sending her positive thoughts to keep her mind from thinking bad things. I've been saying a prayer for her daily.

I know this sounds weird, but I keep a piece of paper on my bathroom mirror with everyone I need to say prayers for. That way, I won't forget if I get busy with things. It works great for me...and now Debbi is on my list.

I think Mom is doing alright...though she always puts on a "strong face" for her children and that makes it hard to tell how she's really doing...

She has another appointment on Thursday with the surgeon and we'll know a lot more then. Her last appointment was very encouraging. I will let mom share that news with you when she gets back on.

Thank you for your concern and for checking up on things.

I've actually heard of making a list like that and putting on your mirror. I've never done it, but I know people who have and they've always said it works really well for them. We definitely appreciate your thoughts and prayers right now.

The news today wasn't at all what we hoped it would be, but my mom is strong and she will beat this.

She has another appointment tomorrow at 9 for a CT scan and a bone scan to see if it has spread at all so if you could be thinking of her tomorrow morning, please do.

She's in a lot of pain now from the biopsy.

Thanks ladies. We really appreciate all of your encouragement and support during this difficult time. Friendship is so important right now and we truly do need as much of it as we can get.

I am spending the night with Mom tonight so that I can go with her to her appointments tomorrow. We are REALLY REALLY hoping for good news. Brendon is in a nearby city taking care of the teenager and dogs we are responsible for this week, but he is going to meet up with Mom and me as soon as his class is over at 10:15. There's another appointment with the surgeon next Thursday, but we are taking this one day at a time...

Angie, I'm so glad I checked in this evening. I've had little sleep, as I took my mother to ER last night, she's still there.

Debbie, we love you!!! Please know you're in our thoughts, hearts and prayers.

I gave her a hug for you Mandy!

It was hard to see her go through all of those tests and stuff today. It broke my heart to watch her have to drink 2 whole bottles of really gross looking "barium sulfate" so that her CT scan would be easier to read. I wished more than anything I could've done it for her...

We didn't get any results or information today because the tests take a while to process, but hopefully we'll get good news on Thursday (her next appointment).

Stay strong girl, and hugs to you!

Thanks Mandy!

I forgot to mention the "positives" from today. So they gave mom an IV and filled her full of radioactive chemicals while they were giving her a CT scan and also before. We had to wait three hours while her bones absorbed the radiation. Anyway, all day Brendon and I have been making "radiation" jokes like "Mom, please don't use your radioactive superpowers on me!" or "Are you going to microwave us?" or "Don't touch me, I don't want to be radioactive too!" It has definitely been pretty funny and uplifting during a stressful time. It's good to see Mom smile...

Please keep us informed Angie. To think we're both having to worry about our Mothers so much. It is hard watching the tests, etc. they have to go through. I'll keep your Mom in my prayers.

I will definitely keep you informed. I don't want to step on mom's toes and say too much, but I do want you ladies to know at least a little what's going on. I usually say the least amount possible so that Mom can have the opportunity to elaborate if she wants, but I leave it up to her.

As for watching your mother go through all of those tests and still be sick, it is definitely one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, so I completely understand and empathize. Thanks for praying for my mother, I will continue to do the same for yours as well. *hugs*
