Puppy Birth announcement!

Canada delivered 12 puppies this morning. I "think" she's finally done. She was a trooper! She's trusting me to be in with her, to handle the pups, and seems quite thrilled with herself.

We had one stillborn that we couldn't revive, and of course it had to be a darker red color... plus 9 healthy yellows of varying shades, and 2 black. I just had to let you all know!

After I posted she delivered one more black female. So in total she had 13 puppies!

This is the first pup we've gotten a picture of. He's a nice round apricot male.

Poor Canada!! I bet that she was miserable! So you've got 12 puppies!!!! Wow!!! And more on the way!!!! Things are going to be hopping at your place! Puppies, puppies, and more puppies!!!!!

It's no wonder she looked like she was going to burst! She probably was!

Montana is leaking milk as of yesterday afternoon and is doing a lot of restless walking and stretching today, so I'm keep a close eye on her now. Am hoping this is the onset of labor so I can see what she's got for us!

I'm happy to be able to report the pups are doing wonderfully. They've grown and filled out a lot already. Canada is eating roughly 4 times what she used to, but I can see where it's going! As long as she keeps doing so well I'm more than happy to just keep shoveling food into her dish.

I bought her a 17 lb bag on Saturday and it's already gone... so that tells you she's eating well!
