Mine would be my grandma. She married young and raised four boys, had to deal with her youngest son basically disowning her and the rest of our family, and screwing her out of money (she sold him her car, he made one $100 payment and then stopped talking to her). She was devastated when my grandpa passed away but still held her head high and was so comforting to my cousins and I. She remarried and last year had to put her second husband in a home due to Alzheimers, and that was really hard on her too. He doesn't know who she is anymore. She still visits him weekly. Everytime I see her, she tells me how proud she is of me and my accomplishments, but I've never had the courage to tell her how proud I am of her.

My great grandmother. She broke her hip when I was about 5. She died when I was 16. She was 91 when she died. Had lived in an apartment alone until about
3 months before she died. I use to call her everyday. It didn't have to be a long
chat just a couple of minutes would do just to check on her and tell her I loved her.

I don't have any heros close, but I would have to say my heros are the ones who protect our freedoms and a little closer to home would have to be Oprah. What an amazing woman with so much influence.
